I'm not here much. I'm not one of the foremost experts on anything boxing-related on these boards. I'm just Shakey, and if for some reason, somehow, you'd like my opinion on anything, you can ask, and I will answer. Honestly, fully and without sugarcoating or being controversial for the hell of it.

Hi.

Tommy Morrison is HIV positive. It's much more likely that he managed to fake testing negative than for two tests to falsely report him positive. There are a lot of masking drugs available, originally developed to hide the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Francis Botha is boxing in South Africa. He had a match a couple of months ago.

Nan, my real name is Sjaak, it's a nickname. Someone came up with it when I was twelve and it stuck.

My chin is pretty good. Everything else sucks to high heaven except my straight right, though, which is securely at the journeyman-of-pedestrians level.

Hi.

Is mayweather gay ?

Yes, I am a nub, unlike you, mister message board superstar. Go you!

I think Taylor is going to win. I'm big on handspeed -- it decides more matches than any other single factor, I believe. I'm rooting for Pavlik, though, and I've put down all my v-points on the upset. :D

Nope, Mayweather isn't gay. Not even the in-the-closet-but-married-to-a-woman kind. Definitely not the type.

He is way too unexciting to watch being the worlds greatest pugilist and all, but he'll retire with a fully functional brain and a healthy bankroll. If nothing else, he'll make it out of a dangerous sport with all of the good and none of the bad.

Kassim Ouma is actually a member of the Bee-Eye-Aye, an intelligence agency dedicated to determine which of the ring girls typically used in high profile matches was responsible for infecting Tommy Morrison with HiV. Currently, all signs point to a sexual orgy gone terribly wrong involving Evander Holyfield, Steven Taylor, a midget and only one hypodermic needle.

Could a better trained clubber lang have beat rocky balboa in rocky 3?

There is a luck-factor to everything in sports, as coincidences influence every single second. There are not only lucky punches, but lucky footwork, lucky dodges, lucky chin, you name it. The angle at which a blow strikes you and the position you coincidentally had your head at the time may enable you to take a punch you otherwise wouldn't have. A thunderous shot you aimed at someone's chin may go horribly awry and squarely hit the temple flush. You might decide to circle left and coincidentally, your opponent had just decided to launch a big left hook which is now easy to doge because of your momentum...or he throws a right and catches you against your motion.

But luck is relative and really hard to measure. In the end, I believe, nothing is 'all luck', and nothing is without it.

Good Q&A
How many more fights does Vazquez have in him and how well will he compete as he moves up in weight? And your thoughts on Roach saying he is slurrring his words and worried about his health?

No more than a better trained George Foreman could have taken Ali -- he went in with the wrong mindset. Should have patiently gone for the body or the left eye of Balboa.

I have no idea. I don't follow that sport at all. Any sport where you can score that many times is devoid of drama and singular moments to highlight.

I think Sugar Shane is going to pull it out -- I think his punch can stun Cotto, I think Cotto is there to be hit, and Shane has the grit to take his punishment like a man. 'Sometimes, a fighter thought to be over the hill can turn back the clock for one more great fight' -- I see that happening, and it won't be Cotto's inexperience or lack of chin or anything else, but a fight between two warriors where one has to win. Sugar Shane by razorthin decision. Yet -- we musn't forget Shane used to be a lighter weight, and Cotto seems like he naturally belongs in one weightclass higher. The going's will be tough, but Shane'll get going.

In two or three fights he'll move up -- and he will not retire, despite being on his way to punch-drunk. With or without Roach, he'll go on until it's just slightly too late.

Why do you think Hamed quit boxing after the Barrera fight?

You don't need to ask shakey that, he didn't quit after losing to barrera, he fought calvo and then quit. This was mostly to do with the fact that he is pretty damn rich and after losing to barrera didn't see the point of carrying on when he didn't need the money.
