If you say "yes" explain your answer, please.

They once belong to the creme of the top at one point in their careers but definitely not enough for a HOF status.

For now . . . they are just exciting fighters that's all.

Fernando beat Quartey and Wright and performed valiantly against Trinidad, De La Hoya and Mosley so he deserves consideration especially if he beats Mayorga who himself hasn't done enough to merit entry.

only if they have a section for well paid punching bags

i voted yes, because mayorga imo at least deserves to be there for being the 'real' welter weight champion. he also held a title at super welter and performed valiantly in losing efforts. vargas i'm not to sure, but i say he gets in some time in the future a few years after his elligibility. hell if there considering gatti for the HOF then mayorga deserves to be in too.

I don't think so...Mayorga, if he beats Vargas, will have beaten Forrest twice, Vargas, Piccirillo, Lewis, and Mitchell. Despite becoming a 2 time champ in 2 weight classes, he would fall well below Hall of Fame status. Vargas, if he beats Mayorga, would have a much better case, beating Mayorga, Wright, Quartey, Castillejo, Marquez, Rivera, and Campas and also being a two time champion. I voted no though.

Definitely not Mayorga. All he has done is beat Forrest. Vargas.....maybe.

i agree. mayorga beating forrest was impressive but more a matter of mayorga intimidating the shit out of him the first time. the second fight was much closer. as for vargas, he SHOULD have been a lock but he's screwed up way too many times in big fights. he barely beat wright and quartey is his only real, high quality win. skills alone don't get you in...course gatti is a lock but well, he's gatti

No they don't deserve to be there. but then again, neither did Barry McGuigan.

if people think gatti is deserving of the HOF, then so is mayorga and vargas.

No, but it's not like the HOF has the highest standards anyway.

Regardless, fighters like Samuel Serrano, Brian Mitchell, Donald Curry, and Marlon Starling all deserve to get in there first, before the likes of Fernando Vargas and Ricardo Mayorga.

Both fighters need a couple more big wins for either one of to make the hall, but I dought it will happen though.

First, Vargas is leaps and bounds ahead of mayorga in terms of accomplishments...

he made Campas quit when campas was still good... for a title, in his 16th pro fight or so.

when on a ONE YEAR TEAR

beating winky wright, ike quartey, ross thompson, and fighting and making an amazing fight against Trinidad.

in one year.

hes the youngest jr middle champ in history, and a two time champ.

with wins over

campas
marquez
winky
ike

and tough as nails losses to

mosley
tito
oscar

mayorga has beat

lewis
forrest

close fight with spinks

got DESTROYED by tito, and DESTOYED by oscar

im not sure though if eather get in the HOF...

Neither IMO, Vargas has a better resume, but Mayorga's isnt that far behind. I think Mayorga takes this fight.

Vargas will not go into the Hall of Fame. His win over Wright was controversial, and I wouldnt say his accomplishments are any better than Mayorgas. Vargas could never beat Vernon Forrest in the gym, so he certainly couldnt beat him twice in fights.
