I realize that Ali doesn't have much of a chance, but are there ANY ways that "The Butterfly" could hope to beat Bergeron?

Discuss.

Probably not...the way I see it, everything Ali did, Bergeron does better

Bergeron has the Heart of a Warrior, but the Soul of a Poet. Moved by Ali's verbal gymnastics, he may take pity and fight Ali with only his right jab, thus settling with a draw.

Indeed. Ali will be backing up so fast that it will give a new meaning to "Poetry in Motion".

Ok, then explain to me step-by-step, round-for-round how Ali could possibly beat Bergeron.

From the place that TALKS about BOXING:

PRESS RELEASE: The Greatest Heavyweight of All Time has announced his new scheme to reform boxing. Yes, I'm talking about the 34 year old boxing prodigy from Quebec, Jean-Francois "The Beaker" Bergeron.

"I really want boxing to improve, but it seemed zat ze promoters were standing in ze way," he began in his Thursday press conference. "Zat is why I have convinced Monsieur King to abandon DKP and adopt a life of poverty and prayer, like ze Medieval 'ermits. And with Monsieur Arum already enrolled in ze Peace Corps, I will be taking over both operations".

Yes, it appears that a new wind is blowing, moving the ship of boxing to a safe harbor once more. Mr. Bergeron has already unveiled a host of changes, ranging from the important (a unified belt in each division) to the mundane (executing Calzaghe by firing squad).

These are heady days, boxing fans. Heady days.

There's no point in trying to argue with someone that delusional. He's probably one of those guys who believes that Foreman actually won the Frazier fight.

Pure insanity. :-(

Here you can clearly see Frazier using the Rope-A-Dope on Foreman more then a year before Ali did.

Just look at his expression of insane determination against Valuev. There's no way Ali's mind games would work on a ferocious human tiger like Jean-Francois.
