Good afternoon all, been a while since i posted but after last weekends fight i see many are predicting that Haye would beat Vitali and also think he could stop the big man.
Rewind a year ago and it was Wlad that most folk though Haye should go after but the consensus seems to be changing.
After Haye's mandatory against John Ruiz, which could be a non event excitement wise, who should Haye target next?
Personally i think Haye should go after Wlad as this has the potential to at least be exciting for however long it lasts.

Wlad as hes got a better chance of beating him.
Still a 50/50 fight at best though.

Vitali first. Beat him the same way he beat Valuev. Probably have to beat him again and then Wlad by first round KTFO.

IMO, Wlad is the easier fight. I know not everyone will agree, but I think Haye would starch him. They also genuinely don't like each other and the pre-fight build-up would be fun:yep.
Wlad.
He's the World Champion.
Another good reason as to why the fight is more preferable. Most consider Wlad as 'the man', and he also has the proper world title so a Haye win would mean that much more, IMO.

Vitali first because I want to see the look on Wlads face when he realises that its up to him to defend family honour

Was it just me or did anyone else think that Wlad looked like a total pip-squeak when Johnson squared up to him and pushed him out the road.

Wlad as he really holds 3 of the belts ( WBO, IBF and WBA).
Remember Valuev was only the champion as Chagaev lost it due to injury, Chagaev lost to Wlad so therefore technically he could be classified as the WBA champion.
Also i would love to see Wlad pole axe Haye.
You're all saying Wlad has an iffy chin and Haye power but David also has a dodgy chin and Wlad has a quality right hand (when he chooses to use it ;)). Plus Wlad has the height and reach :think. IMO, it's not as easy as everyone is makink it out to be.
I say Haye should look to beat Vitali and unify the WBC and WBA and then fight Wlad for all the baubles. Would be the biggest HW fight since Lennox~Tyson.

It isn't just Wlad's whiskers that makes the fight favourable for Haye, IMHO. Wlad doesn't like to fight and he'll happilly sit behind his pawing jab for 12 if need be. Haye could potentially make Wlad extremely uncomfortable. To add to that, how many of Wlad's opponents have been as fast and mobile as Haye is right now? Add Haye's power to the mix and, stylistically, I personally think Haye is all wrong for Wlad.

Haye cant beat either IMO.

Wlad, although not very entertaining, is very effective at what he does. He has the best jab and right hand in the division (which admittedly, isn't saying much but still..) and is very adept at making his opponent fight at his tempo and range.
That said, Haye does have all the attributes to nullify Wlad's strengths and take advantage of his weaknesses BUT will Haye be able to successfully do this or will he get caught with jabs and right hands and end up like most of Wlad's other foes?
Wlad isn't a slow, plodding Valuev. He's pretty nimble on his feet (though obviously not as fast as Haye) and has good handspeed for a heavy.
I'd give Haye a solid chance of pulling the upset though. :bbb

Oh yeah, I don't dispute Wlad's efficiency at all. As boring as he is, he's managed to find a style that utilises his attributes and he has enjoyed considerable success with it since it's implementation so he deserves credit. That said, I just don't think Haye would allow Wlad to dictate the pace and jab him all night long. Haye is too fast, too skillful, too powerful and, most importantly, far too pugnacious in spirit to allow himself to be dominated by Wlad, IMO.
It's such an interesting fight and I hope it's made instead of Haye-Vitali. I'm pretty sure that it won't be, though, unless Haye beats Vitali first.
I'd like him to beat Vitali first due to his age. Wlad will be the biggie.

What if it went tits-up against Vitali, though? Wlad is 'the man' and, as humongously happy as I'd be if Haye were to beat Vitali, deep-down I would still be thinking that he still hasn't proven himself as the best in the division. Vitali might even demand a rematch if Haye were to win:think. I honestly don't think Vitali is the easier option, but I do accept that I'm in the minority in thinking that. I do accept that he has looked very slow since his return and his CV since his return isn't exactly amazing and it's not exactly hard to look good against the likes of Peter, Gomez, Arreola & Johnson. H2H, I just think that Wlad matches up better with Haye's attributes than Vitali. I think Chambers could still put a spanner in the works as well. Imagine how huge a HW unification fight would be between a Brit and a Yank again!:yep

I really dont mind. I think Wladimir has become massively underrated, a lot of people seem to think Haye just has to turn up and at some point he'll connect and KO him, im not so sure.
Both will be very interesting fights whatever happens.

I know this is the UK forum and we should all be suitably biased towards our guy, but Haye lacks the chin to be able take either guys power and he would be beaten down and stopped by either.
Vitali would win via KO inside 8
Wlad would via a decision.
Sorry to shit on the parade.
Just remember the sight of him on his back from a shot as shit JM Mormeck at CW. He is now fighting the best and the dominant HW champions with significant power and size advantages over him
The track running performance against Valuev made me realise this guy is a fraud. If he was a threat he would have engaged and threw more than 5 punches a round and knocked the puppet out, what a cop out.

In another thread you've just accused Haye of lacking power!!! You're a bit of a tit arent you?
Cruiser and HW world champion, some fraud eh?

Haha thank fuck for that!
I would like to know why a victory over Monte Barrett who was then destroyed in 2 rounds in his next fight against Solis.
And then a victory over the alleged worst ever heavyweight, according to alot of people prior to the Haye victory over Valuev, makes Haye a virtual already winner over Wlad when Wlad is several levels above the two mentioned fighters.
Haye does have a chance, but its a slim one imo going off recent results.
