According to the news big Belarussian heavy weight Alexander Ustinov is scheduled to fight at the event next spring meeting a boxer from the top 15 worldwide.
According to the news Ustinov will face either Evander Hollyfield or his "compatriot" Sergej Liakhovich (who is ethnic Belarussian unlike Ustinov) at Belarus' capital Minsk.
The Belarussian Federation of Professional Boxing has signed a contract with K2 East Promotions, headed by the two Klitschko brothers.
Ustinov entered the spotlight of the Klitschko brothers' universe when sparring with Vitaly Klitschko.
Ustinov is now 20-0,with 15 victories by way of ko.
His coach is the well known Belarussian fight expert Wladimir Zadiran. Ustinov had been a known Muay Thai and kickboxer before he turned pro in the paid ranks of pro boxing.
According to the news the organisers of this fight event expext the governor of California as well as the former mayor of New York,Giuliani,to attend the show.
I very much hope that this fight show really comes off at Minsk Arena/Belarus!!!!
First really big pro fight event in Belarus it will be:good:good:good

Thanks for the news!!

It's great to hear that they're making a true "event" happen there.

I hope he doesn't fight Holyfield, Liakhovich is who i'd like to see him fight.

I like Ustinov alot but alot of that comes from my memories of him from K-1. He's about 32 or 33, he has the talent and size to really make a run at it but he has to get fucking serious.

Drop 20+ pounds and get back to around 280 which is what he was at in K-1 when he still had handspeed, he's too slow right now. I really hope he gets hits shit together.

Looking forward to this event

God I hope it's not Holyfield.I can't take the pain of seeing him fight at nearly 50 anymore.

Liakhovich would be the good choice.

Evander would still beat Ustinov, though. I'm still pissed that he ducked Cedric Boswell, Alexander was in for a beating that night on the Vitali-Arreola undercard and he knew it. He needs serious improvement before he's ready to take on a top 10/15 guy.

Evander Holyfield should fight James Toney in the battle of senior citizens, I think Toney retired, I'm not 100% on that though.

Anyways, I just seen some fights with Alexander Ustinov, despite originally in K-1 we can all say that he's a veteran in the fight game.

I seen some fights with him and he knows how to commit to kill which is always good to have the "finisher"

I wish to God that I seen him fight Monte Barrett because Barrett is one of my favorite boxers to watch ( ya ya he's not the best and a far cry from it but I still enjoy watching him and his performance because he's good and pleas able ) to me Barrett is the limit to tell you whether you're good or bologna. For example, Tye Big Sky fields vs Barrett Barrett made that man look like a meatball and dropped him like a filthy habit and so did the VS network (goes to show you how good Tye Fields really was huh?)

I would question however if this man could take on Vitali in a 12 round fight, I know it's too soon to be talking about that because right now Vitali is running out of guys to fight with, only one I can really think of is Nikolai Valuev which I have posted in another forum.

I have also seen this man fight against Julius Long and man oh man.. how it's a shame that a man with such height and nice long arms has not yet learned how to establish the jab..if a man that size used the jab even at the rate that Valuev does, no one would be able to get in and would have there head snapped back if they tried and got caught.

What contenders would you like to see this man fight before having a fight with any of the belt holders?

Co-sign on all these points. :deal

I agree he's terrible.Sort of a Valuev light.Could and should have finished Barrett in the first but let him go 12.
He ain't young either and is trained by his long time K1 trainer so he ain't gonna get better but stil...

Evander needs to retire.Hope the Botha fight somehow falls off.

:tired According to the news Riddick Bowe must be now included in the list of Ustinov's potential opponents.

The totally shot Bowe will be no match for any top 100 fighter at this stage of his career anymore.

Well,Bowe has fought on Klitschko's undercards.

Hollyfield will demand big bucks for a fight with Ustinov, and Liakhovich wont fight for free either.
I guess Bowe will probably demand the smallest fight purse of them.
Whats more he is still a recognisable name out there.
Uh! I very much Ustinov wont fight this old geezer!!!

Like most of you I prefer Ustinov vs Liakhovich to Ustinov vs Hollyfield, but wouldnt mind watching Ustinov vs Hollyfield who still has a very good reputation.

Bowe? Any local club fighter in Minsk will wipe the floor with this totally shot American.

Bowe upsetting Ustinov would make me happier than a pig in a public stall at the NY Port Authority.

If you've seen Riddick's last outing you know the chances of him beating Ustinov are close to none.

This would mean accepting that Ustinov is better than Gene Pukall...:think

Let's not get carroed away with the exagerations here......

Besides the stylistic problems of a Pukall and a Ustinov are completely different.
