Well his competition has been fairly weak.

sounds like he will only fight once in awhile... no title runs or such... he is 37 alrdy, and he's got movies lined up for 2010 and 2011

Now, Jimmie - Frank Shamrock is no weak competition for anyone. Let's at least be fair here.

No Frank is not weak ill agree on that. However this isnt the 1999 Frank Shamrock at this point hes 37 with bad knees in recent years we seen Nick Diaz just absolutley destroy him and Renzo Gracie owned him as well. Frank can still fight at a somewhat high level but wins over Cesar Gracie and Phil Baroni being his only in the last 7 years prove he isnt an elite fighter anymore. To be fair to Le though I think the best Frank Shamrock in the last several years showed up in that fight March of 08.

Cung is 37 as well so we can't really use that argument. It wouldn't have mattered when they fought. Cung tools Frank at any point in their careers - because he can't take him down. Yeah - Frank got schooled by Renzo but damn that's Renzo. He'd school Cung Le too if he took him down. Nick Diaz is just a freak. In my mind he's on his way to being a great fighter - he just needs the right fights to put him there.

I agree with everything but when a past it Frank Shamrock is easily your best victory then I dont believe your undefeated record is something thats all that worth bragging about. I like Cunge Le he seems like a decent man and is a heck of a fighter and wouldnt mind seeing him shut me up alittle but he still has a hell of alot to prove in MMA.
He wouldn't beat Frank, had Frank actually used the full extent of his abilities.
He basically beat Frank in a kickboxing match. Who cares.

If that's the case then he beat Frank mentally before the fight even started. No excuses for Shamrock that fight, he had plenty of opportunity's to attempt a takedown that he wouldn't have necessarily completed anyways.

Well I don't think Le is bragging. The title of this thread is taken very out of context.

You don't think Shamrock was told to stand and trade with Le the entire fight? There's a reason why they didn't want Shamrock to take him down and just stick with kicks....:deal

Well Shamrock held an ownership stake in that fight, so who was going to tell him what to do?
It's more that he thought he could outbox him after showing pretty good boxing and power, plus never having good takedowns to begin with and claiming not to be able to shoot due to bad knees.

For a 37 year old Cung Le was damn impressive. First time I see him fight. He showed why he had gone undefeated.
