Be interested to know if anyone thinks Mads is anywhere near as good as he was, I am interested because he fights an Iirsh boxer next for the EBU title in January.

I am assuming Larsen has lost a little something but has anyone seen him since the comeback started.

What are your views?

I ve seen almost all his fights since his return. In some of them he looked quite convincing( against Hamdan and Thompson),but Cayetano, an Italian based fighter from the Domican Republic, gave him hell and made him look old and over the hill.
He went the full route with Larsen and lost a point decision to him,but there quite a few ring observers who thought that that fight could have gone either way.
Cayetano was stopped in the follwing fight by Larsen's Armenian stable mate Murat.

He hasnt showcased his skills this year,as far as I know.
Injury? Lack of motivation? Retirement?
No idea!!

I think Magee beats him but it could still be close.

Might be a good fight if Mads still has something. Magee was put down 4 times by R Reid and KOd by Froch. So you never know

Damn it's so sad that he had to lose those years of his career b/c of a stupid promoter. Against Coco he looked alright stepping it up as the fight went on, but he seems to have some problems motivating himself. I think he had the opportunity to fight Bute in the spring, but he was only motivated for Kessler.

I have seen all Larsen's fights since his comeback.
Larsen had the skills to land a world title, and more important: he had the chance. Sauerland had an option on Lucian Bute (they got that because Stieglitz traveled to Canada to fight Bute), and Sauerland would have made that fight on March 7, 2009, in Aarhus, Denmark. But Larsen refused that fight, because he wanted a Kessler more than just a world title fight.

Mads Larsen isn't on the same level as in 1999/2000, but I still think he has the skills to beat Brian Magee, who is also over the hill.

Thanks Guys, looks like we all edge towards Larson but not with much confidence as both fighters have seen better days
