Are the dodgy decisions associated with one promoter or does Germany have several crooks that run everything?

It can't be all bad

So, Bergeron lost by 7 points instead of 3 or 4. Stop the friggin' presses.

Bergeron is never robbed. He can only lose by his own consent.

He must have instructed the judges ahead of time.

germany: "the evil iron fortress of foul play"! thats what the british boxing mag "boxing monthly" called them......and they are not far off.

but if you want to read real propaganda, read the (only) german boxing mag "boxsport".......thats just crazy shit.

The crowd gave booo's because the right man won but not by the right margin?

i was writing a list of all bad german decisions, but was taking too much time out of my life due to the quantity - i got to 50,000 decisions and gave up

Germany is a joke. Ask Lucas, Miranda, Bergeron and many others who lost because of the crorrupted german promoters. Im sick of them we should ban them from boxing once and for all (Don King too)

why does this always happen in germany?

economics. germans are good at making money....any way they can.

in pro boxing, losing a match means losing money.

so if one of the german or german based fighters lose, the promoters in germany just make sure they dont. its nothing new. its just never been perfected that way as it has been done in good old germany.

I think Germany got a really bad reputation based on Sven Ottke's disgraceful title reign. However, there are other things that go on there which don't seem to happen in many other countries. Anybody remember that long count Krasniqi got against Brewster or the way Arthur Abraham was forced to continue fighting against Miranda when he said to his trainer "I'm kaput?"

Abraham wasn´t forced and he didn´t say "I´m kaputt" he asked his trainer if there is something wrong with his jaw during round 4 and 5. The doctor asked AA if he wants to continue, at first he said no because he thought it would go to the cards and he would win, after they told him that he would lose he wanted to fight on - also he shouldn´t have.
I agree with the Krasniqui thing. A shame things like that are possible over here.

I read a conflicting report and don't take this the wrong way but unless you were at ringside I'm gonna take your story with the grain of salt I take the one I heard.

i commented on the brewster vs krasniqui incident in another thread, but i too never seen that happen before ANYWHERE!!!

that was foul play, no doubt. but what struck me most that there seemed to be no controversy about it afterwards.....

Moot point my friend cuz Brewster won. Now had Krasniqi pulled himself together and won a decision there would have been an international boycott on German boxing. It's one of those things in which u have to convince yourself of what you just saw because you're in disbelief when you're actually watching it take place. Sort of like when Hopkins threw the Puerto Rican flag on the floor. It took a while for that to register with me cuz I just couldn't fucking believe it.

You seem like a sensible poster. Would u agree that alot of Germany's reputation came from Sven Ottke's title reign? The Robin Reid debacle put alot of people over the edge and rightly so.

What's that, 3 decisions now where the consensus say Valuev won comfortably, with a loud minority saying he lost (Ruiz, Donald, Bergeron)? It seems obvious to me that there are just some people who don't know how to score with Valuev, or at least score him differently....

Definitly, although i´m one of Ottke´s defenders on this board, his reign was terrible for the sport over here.

I just recently found out that Maske beat him a few times in the amateurs and olympics. Now that guy was a fighter.

I had the fight a draw. I could see an arguement made for a close Valuev decision. Very poor judging.

Well, it doesn´t ask Lewis or Sturm :good

:good

Just the two examples I was going to use.

Show me ANY fight in Germany that was worse than:

1) Sturm gluing his jab to DLH's face and losing the decision (when he should have won about 8 rounds to 4 - Oscar didn't do ANYTHING) because Hoya had the Hops fight next, OR,

2) Lennox Lewis being FLAT-OUT ROBBED OF THE UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP, IN VEGAS, AGAINST AN AMERICAN, IN FRONT OF A WORLDWIDE AUDIENCE OF MILLIONS.
