Can anyone body here do them?
I want to learn them for 2010 - one of my mates who can blast out 10 reps at a time says the key to learning them is starting by doing negatives
Anybody else have any advice on them?

I can do them, but not without a wall or door. There's not much of a strategy to em, just the more you practice them the more you can do.

Our trainer at the gym got us doing them once, most of us struggled to do a handstand let alone a push up too. Practice like anything

Negatives = Negative portion of the reps only
In this case it would the the "lowering" aspect of the lift not the raising
Make sense?

If you cant do them at all yet:
Start with Pike pushups, when they become easy >>>
Incline Pike pushups, when they become easy >>
Wall assist Hand stand pushups >>

Do they improve your boxing conditioning?Massive % of 1RM on the delts and tri's, prob take a great amount of core strength to balance. I'd imagine it's a very good excercise.

Whats that mean in english doc?If you are performing this exercise, your triceps and deltoids are going to be very well challenged. :goodIts most effective on the core though, if not surely a military press would be just as effective and safer.

Wonder why?
:-(
Read between the lines, what's the point of doing an muscle exercise when you're not able to give it your all? Sounds like military press - the retarded way. There are several great exercises for building core strength..
