To make the forum a little cleaner, ill do my part in translating some Mariusz Pudzianowski related articles and keep it in this thread, instead of creating multiple topics.

Right now the "rumors" all over the Polish MMA scene is that he might fight Krzysztof Oliwa. Another candidate is Bob Sapp.

Ill translate the main parts.

- I talk to Polsat TV Network, I am verry interested in this thought.

Im not scared of Pudzian, I want to fight him - says Oliwa, Former NHL player.

After the successes of the Pudzianowski - Najman fight(around 6 million viewers) TV Polsat are looking for annother opponent for the World Strongest Man. Oliwa is a canidate to the fight. Pudzianowski signed a contract prior to the Najman fight, for 4 fights in the KSW.

During his NHL career, Oliwa quite often fought on the ice with a lot of other players.

During the battles, the Polish NHL Star most often allways came out victorious. Even tho he ended his career in 2006, the fighting still is in Oliwa.

- The kind of fight Pudzian had with Najman, I had pretty much had every 2 to 3 days. - Oliwa.

Pudz is an awesome physical specimen but I look forward to him losing the weight he says he will. This fight doesn't impress me at all. Bob Sapp is a serious fight just because of size and experience. If he fights this NHL guy he'll look like a gimmick fighter.

Tomasz Adamek's thoughts on Mariusz's MMA career:

[Only registered and activated users can see links]
(ill only translate the Pudzianowski part)

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Reporter: Im sure you seen the fight between Pudzian and Najman. What are you're thought on what happened in the ring? What are you're thoughts on MMA?

Tomasz Adamek:

Could you really call that a fight? The fight was very short, only lasted some odd seconds. In MMA you have to fight a little ground game and a little stand up. I did not see a big fight at all. MMA is a tough sport and you have to be tough if you wanna fight MMA.

I have no interests at all in fighting in MMA, because I am not good on the ground, and im sure i wouldnt have much of a chance, if i were to be on the mat in a fight.

Nothing other than boxing interests me at the moment. I think Pudzian will fight on a bit, but he will never be anything big. I don't think he could be able to compete at the European level. Professional fighters in this discipline are the real gladiators, the ones who were fighting in MMA since they were little.

I sometimes see how MMA looks in the States, and I see the level the fighters show.

Pudzian with these pros wouldn't have a chance. I know Mariusz and Marcin (Najman) as well, and like i said before, its best to stay in something you are the best at. Pudzian is the best in terms of Strongmen and he is the champion. In MMA he will never be a champion, lets not kid ourselves.

Thanks for the translations Andy. I also hope its Sapp, but I have a feeling end up being Oliwa.

Im not much of a MMA expert, but dont you think 40 seconds of MMA just isnt enough to go out and fight someone of a Sapp level, or is Sapp shit?

Kinda like todays version of Holyfeild/Golota in boxing...?

I like how Adamek is very intelligent about not only Pudz' prospects but MMA in general, instead of the usual 'MMA is easy/crap/dogfighting' that comes from those in the boxing world. I also agree with him in regards to Pudzian's prospects in MMA.

My thoughts exactly. He's very knowledgeable and insightful. Respect where respect is due. He fully understands the game and it's dangers.

This is another candidate to fight Pudzian.

The next KSW will be in MAY and the opponent will be named in January.

I actually wouldn't mind this fight. While Nastula has done sweet f a in MMA, being a Judo world champ and gold medalist he has some skills. One he should win but a guy who could still pose problems.

I was wondering what happened to Nastula. The guy was clearly talented, but Pride threw him in with the big boys right from the go. He is one of those fighters who is better then his record suggests. I just want Mariusz to fight a MMA fighter (whoever it is) and not a NHL guy.

Why exactly is he even doing this? He is the best strongman in the world, why give that up to become an MMA fighter who is starting very late without much of a background? The pay can't be better.

Im sure it might be.

Can you name me another MMA fighter who got 6 million viewers in his debut bout?

The guy isn't just the world's strongest man, hes attractive to the public.....he doesnt need MMA to build himself a name cause he already has one.... he could probably go to Hollywood if he wanted to.

This obviously isn't bout the money its about giving it a shot.

He's proved himself in Strongmen competitions....he pretty much just wants to give something else a try.

If all else fails, might as well go what Arnie or Hulk Hogan or Van Damme did....go to California and play in some movies!

… I have no interests at all in fighting in MMA, because I am not good on the ground, and I’m sure i wouldn’t have much of a chance, if i were to be on the mat in a fight…

Why is Tomasz Adamek so stupid? Doesn't he realise that MMA is a sport for no chinned cans that if they could would be boxing.

Ground game? He’s such a retard. Grappling doesn't take any skill. All a boxer needs is, maybe, a week or two of sprawl training. Then he can dominate MMA. The fighters in that joke of a sport don’t have the athleticism of boxers.

I mean, Jesus, anyone with decent hand and eye coordination can go all the way in wrestling. Go as far as the Olympic team in fact. It’s like darts. Also, BJJ is gay. Why doesn’t he realise this? I mean if posters on Eastside Boxing are smart enough to realise this then why isn’t Tomasz? Must be all those shots to the head.

Anyway, on serious note thanks for translating the articles.

Nastula would beat him.

Pawel Nastula is the greatest 1-4 fighter in any combat sport. That guy has not had an easy time of it. Seriously, it’s like someone hated that dude.

It's a pity Pride is gone. I would've loved to have seen him fighting pro-wrestlers and, also, Zulu.

Anyone reckon Butterbean, Ken Shamrock or Tank Abbott are up for a trip to Poland?

Anyone reckon Butterbean, Ken Shamrock or Tank Abbott are up for a trip to Poland? Well its not as if those guys are in a position to pick and choose on where/who they wanna fight. Butterbean would be a decent 2nd fight for Mariusz. As I said earlier, I'd rather he fight someone with MMA expereince over someone who doesn't.

Adamek comes across as a cool, grounded guy as well as being a world class boxer! I (like many others i'm sure) truly enjoy this type of post. I would probably not have been aware of any of the above post had I not been an ESB member! :good Thanks (And for the translation of course:-))!

All the reason other guys have said, but also he did box and do some karate as a youngster, not sure how good he was, I guess he knows, if he doesn't step up his competion, we will know that he knows he can't fight

Aleksander Emelianenko seems to be out of the candidacy to fight Pudzian.

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

"At the moment i am tied up with a contract with PROFC and im going to be fighting for them in April in Moscow.

I've heard Pudzian wants a fight with me by that time. I didnt see the fight with Najman, but i have seen pictures of Pudzian in the internet. Soon enough i will look closer to his technique's. - said Alex Emelianenko

When asked how he could beat Mariusz, Alex responded quickly -

"I can knock him out, or by putting him in a hold if he takes the fight to the ground. I have a lot of experience with fighters big and strong like him. "

Aleks is not a smart fight for him at all anyway. WAY too early. Pudz clearly doesn't have top pedigree for him to be thinking about someone like Aleks.

Pudz should be fighting shit guys with loads of experience. Guys like Lashley fought - Jason Guida, Bob Sapp etc Guys who look like they will come to fight but with a bit of know how can be beaten.

I dunno if Pudzian himself called him onto a fight or the media just twisting things up... but i agree with what you said.

Someone like Nastula would be perfect.

Old...but good amount of experience .

Also, as far as I know, Oliwa is the only person who called Pudzian out and agrees to fight him. All the other names have just been "brought up"
