I see he's fighting Fry on the Smith v Dodson card.Good step up for him.Cant see him being put in with cleverly anytime soon.****** will wait till they are both at world level before pairing them.He has great power but I still feel cleverly would be too fast

I agree that it will be a while before these fighters get it on... It won't be until there is a decent strap on the line and it makes cash common sense for both fighters...:yep
I think that when they meet Tony Bellew will KO Cleverley. Bellew has to much power and when he hits people stay hit... Cleverley has not mixed it with a banger like Bellew as they ain't to many about...:bbb
Many are underestimating Bellew's boxing skills too...Tony has excellent boxing skills, a great engine and can bang, he is in a great camp with a great team spirit and has a great trainer in Arnie...:deal
I have said on this site for a longtime that Tony Bellew will clean up his division and he will...:yep

It's a step up he needs to take though, being older than most of the less experienced guys.
He was a good amateur, so there's no need to fight clowns, and having already put away a couple of half decent guys this is a logical step.
I wouldn't bother with the likes of Dilks, Ajisafe etc, go for the jugular.

Beeston, I must congratulate you on your avatar... Santa spoiled you this year... I must say that it totally states the obvious...
I am sure that my pal Dan will love it...
I agree with your post on going for the jugular, I think that the promoter will manage the fights carefully until the time is right... I would like to see a fight with Oakey but it would involve 2 promoters who may not do business together...:think

Yeah I'm sure he will..... expecting a text any minute :yep
I assume you will be cheering us on next Sunday....... tried to get a ticket but had absolutely no chance of getting them :-(
Oakey would be a good fight, he won't just go over when Tony goes within a yard of him..... but hell will probably freeze over before those two work together :think

I have managed to get a ticket for the CC SF 2nd Leg, hopefully we can get a result at home and try to keep them out at their place...I will be cheering you on next week for sure. We have got Boro away, I am going there too...
We have booked our flights for Froch v Kessler, do you fancy it...?
I think you might be right with the Oakey v Bellew fight... If it happens I see Tony winning by KO at whatever time he wants too...:bbb

How much are flights Jon?
£130 from Mcr... Friday to Sunday, really good flight times as well with no mega early start...11am going out and leave Copehagen on the Sunday at 530pm...
There are two downsides for me on this trip... We play Manure United at home whilst I am at this fight and it is the weekend before the London Marathon so it will be an alcohol free trip...
Not to arsed about the ale to be honest... I can take it or leave it...:yep

I think comparison is unfair. Especially at this stage.

Bold statement their saying that Bellew is better than Gavin. They're in 2 different weight categories and their styles are different.Bellew is a powerhouse,Gavin a slick counter-puncher.To compare them is rather stupid.

I think that it was Terry Edwards who said that Frankie Gavin had the best boxing brain of any amateur fighter he had ever worked with...:think

I like the Bellew-Fry fight better than the main event to be honest. Smith is a bit too frustraing to watch.

HMH, two fucking weeks in your pocket. To be fair you should have got all 3 points yesterday but thankfully Saha left his shooting boots at home.

Bent just made my Christmas @safc1990.
11 league goals was 10/11 at Paddypower and I stuck a ton on it. Would have stuck a grand on it if I could be sure that the likes of Michael Brown wouldnt rip his legs off.(i.eVan Persie)

I've said many a time that Frankie Gavin has the best boxing brain I've ever seen!! Just a shame he has no other type of brain..:yep
He's 1 of my best mate's and also the best boxer not just in my gym but in the country I feel, He can do things that no other fighter can do, That's why for me he's so good, We have a good few top fighters in the gym and all of us have our own little attributes, You'll see the best of Frankie the better fighter he fights..
As for me, I've only shown 50-60% of what I can do, When I get someone who absorbs a good shot you'll see the best of my ability..:good I can't wait for March to come to start mixing in championship class;) People will be very shocked at what they see I promise that..:good
All the best to everyone on here too guys, Once again this is the place to be for keen boxing people.. Big up to the eastside massive:rofl

Nah, I'm glad it was shared mate. I like Sunderland and am expecting Everton to kick on in 2010. Any points we gain with this depleted squad at the moment are a bonus.
I hope you like it in my pocket. Better stay in the left one, there's a hole in my right where I crack one off on the train incognito.

I think Gavin will show a lot more when he faces an opponent that fights back, allowing him to slip into his more natural counterpunching...... not sure pressure fighting is his game, though he does look composed in there rather than going hell for leather trying to KO people with every punch.
That said, he has been the most impressive of the younger guys that have turned over - certainly more so than DeGale, Saunders, Jeffries and Price anyway.

Can't wait to see Bellew v Fry. I reckon 2010 will be a great year for the bomber. He's had two good years as a pro now and has made really solid progress. I think next year we'll see his quality and he'll really make his mark. He's gonna bring some cracking fights are way

Are you Cotto20 by any chance?
Also I 'waste my life sitting on a keyoard 24/7' you post the same thread about ten times a day, I'd say thats wasting time on a PC.
Honestly pal, you obviously don't enjoy posting here, as you behave like a dick wherever you go and in about ten posts of creating a new Alias.
How my appearance has anything to do with my ability to judge Boxing I don't know. And even if I am a 'skinny little runt' as you say I'm widely perceived to have a Chuvalo-esque beard:lol:

 well here you are Kos, he just posted this on a thread I started called Louis vs Ali; basically attempting a rethink of what I felt about Ali vs Louis (that I thought it would be a wide points win for Ali and how as of late I've started to lean towards The Brown Bomber') anyway he came up with this for a response, referring to things I have no idea about:lol:Why the Hell he's bringing up John Mugabi and my apparent lack of knowledge about him (he's talking shit) but here it is:
If you're going to do a fanstasy fight aleast do a original one. But am telling this to a person that never knew John Mugabi could be blown away early in a fight......:patsch
Just how much boxing have you seen? Because I think you're just a boxrec looker and havent even seen many vintage fights, how long you been into boxing for?
Let me guess since watching Calzaghe vs Kessler or Hatton vs Mayweather?:-(
Typical.......

Funny thing is he asked me 'what experiences have you had at live fights? what fighters have you met?' thinking I'd have nothing to respond with, and of course I had the epic Froch-Dirrell night.
These are the kinda things he responds with:
you talk out of your ass and you are a lowlife!

Arnie has a great camp of young stars that potentially could start wreaking havock on the world scene within 3 years.. It is class rubbing off on some great students who are very driven and hungry......... Tony Bellew and Frankie Gavin are head of the class, and they are well on target for where they should be in terms of ratings and standard of opposition, Fry is a great step for Tony Bellew and after that he can serve notice that he is open for offers from all concerned and i honestly dont think he gives a monkeys who he is thrown in against, Lewis was the last man i saw with that attitude, he fought who ever Maloney brought to the table without blinking an eye...
