He was a fairly successful amateur boxer, not sure to what extent, but he might do fairly well.

I was excited to see that, Beebs. Great news. I know he's discussed making his boxing debut for quite some time now. Here's an old article from last year.

must be a classic case of him wanting to get paid. he'll probably face a complete bum and get paid $10,000 for it.

this is really disappointing at this stage. i want to see him build a great mma career first. he is on the cusp of big things.

maybe he will be on the april cbs card and he needs to kill time.

I just hope he doesn't pull an Overeem and fight everywhere but Strikeforce.

I agree hopefully this is just a stay busy type of deal. One thing you gotta lov Mousasi for is the fact he likes to stay busy. Im not crazy about this Goodridge fight on NYE but if it keeps him busy till April I suppose I cant complain much. Problem is that IMO Mousasi is one of the 10 best fighters on the planet I wanna see him fight the best guys on a consistent basis not guys who havent won in 5 years or taxi cab/boxers.

maybe his contract does say he can only fight on the same cards as fedor. i'm suprised coker hasn't been questioned further about this.

if this is the case then i can understand him wanting to stay busy and earn some money.

part of me likes consistency and thus want to see strikeforce tie guys down to 6 fight sole representation contracts etc

im like you, im not excited about seeing him versus journeymen in either boxing or mma, especially when he is probably a top10 fighter.

It's not that uncommon, plenty of guys do pro boxing on the side with varying success, same with kickboxing, not to mention all the guys who do grappling competitions.

Fedor does combat sambo, which includes strikes.

He fought fairly recently, as long as he doesn't go missing for long periods of times between fights its not a big deal.

The boxing match is off, as he is now confirmed for Dynamite. Here are his plans for 2010.

If Mousasi countinues his form, I worry they will run out of good opponents for him. Henderson, Filho (if he can sort out his issues) and maybe King Mo are the only guys I can think of? Looks like there may be a LHW GP in Japan next year. Do Dream even have more then a couple of LHW's on their roster?

I think he should put more faith in Strikeforce, they've already delivered him a title shot, Babalu, Sokoudjou and a place on the April CBS card. Those are 2 of his best wins I think.

King Mo is 6-0. Put him on the Jan card, make him 7-0 and I think he could be a good fight for Mousasi. King Mo has already said he wants the fight.
