LOL at Larry Merchants drunken Ramblings right before the end. Something about Taylor taking his shots well. But why in the hell would a superior boxer back into a corner vs. a much heavier hitter?
Easy answer: He never was the superior boxer.

I am very very pleased and satisfied with this result...finally the middleweight division has been cleaned up and there is a credible king for the throne. Now we need the heavyweights to settle things- and of course - the welterweights. Boxing is looking good again- it always does when a real champ IS champ.

Was nice to see a fight with Taylor not go to the scorecards for once!
The overrated Taylor has been dethroned.
One thing that I will always give Jermain: he fought all comers.
Grats to the new champ. :good

Jermaine was unconscious, completely gone. He would have been counted out anyways, it makes no difference.

I guess they wanted the ref to drag him up and give him a standing 8 count.

My theory is that most of the people saying this was a BS stoppage have a serious grudge against Taylor for one reason or another and simply wanted to see him take a bigger beating.
Besides this loss, I think Jermain set out and accomplished what he really wanted to do in boxing career-wise- I don't think his priority was to be the next Hopkins and fight for 20 years professionally so much as get his family financially set, which he's done. That's also why he'd fight everybody- to accomplish what he could while he could...it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him hang it up within the next 12-24 months.

he couldnt have made it to 10 if the ref counted..

The referee could of counted to 100.
No way was he getting up.
He was totally done.
Nexting , it will be easier and faster for Pavlic.
The fix was in as you see with the score cards.

There was nothing premature about the ref's decision...
It was a great call.

Pavlik had him pinned in the corner. If Smogger had not sepped in, Jermain would have taken more unnecessary damage.

Nice ko. Congrats to Pavlik. Truly impressed. Never liked Taylor and all the HBO hype surrounding him.
Now, we are just waiting for Calzaghe to get an even bigger beating from Kessler and we got two legit champs.
Would love Pavlik v. Kessler

Wasn't it Jeff Lacy who was supposed to be the guy to beat Calzaghe and become this 'legit' champ  :huh
I can't see what Kessler has done to be worthy of this legit champ status anymore than Calzaghe.

I liked how kelly when he went down from a good attack for sure from taylor, did not panic got up and made it through the round, his face showed no signs of distress, the camp obviously had a plan of action if he went down, which im sure they considered,he sure impressed me a hell of a lot.

Thanks for the video..................
Pavlik is one tough, skilled, and powerful SOB, no question. But he proved that when he took Miranda apart, but this win cements his world class boxing abilty. He's the best, bar none.
Brings the fight TO you, even when you don't want it...............
He is certianly THE man, now. Tough as hell and a hard puncher. Very aggressive and accurate with his shots.
I was thinking/hoping he'd win this, and he certianly did it in grand fashion. Its good to see things get shaken up like this.

ARE YOU FUCKING RETARDED?
Taylor didnt get up until around 30 seconds later and he had to be helped to his feet. He was fucking out
I swear, some people won't be happy till someone is seriously hurt, or worse.

My thoughts exactly.
Just wondering how much longer Pavlik can make 160. Before the Miranda fight he had to sit in a sauna for a few hours to make weight.

Pavlik is a monster. He hurt Taylor with the right, hurt him more with the left uppercut, hurt him more with the right uppercut, finished him with the left hand. That is an arsenal of two fisited bombs.
surreal deal

he was tiring and getting walked down.fatigue and power punching can wreck any strategy.

Does it look like Taylor wants to keep fighting? Or, is even capable of getting up?
that boy sure knows how to finish. lucky for him Taylor didn't.

Hell no he was done. Pavlik couldve injured him seriously if he stood up. Good stopage from the referee and nice pic.
