Gotta be the next best match-up at middleweight but who wins?
I reckon Pavlik will have to be more careful against Abraham 'cos he's got way more KO power than Taylor but probably not the skills

abraham is bare small 5'10 vs a man who is 6'2
thats a big difference when arthurs main weapon is a right hand which usually has to go striaght if it goes up more than 3 inches then it loses power this is a boxing training fact that you go to the body if the head is to high...
but arthurs left hook!!!!

Pavlik UD, unless the fight is in Germany. With the reach difference, Pavlik keeps him on the end of his jab all night long.
Who's saying Pavlik KO though? Abraham has a rock solid chin.

There is no reason Pavilk would fight in Germany. He's got the leverage now.

Abraham is a lazy fighter who relies and a crappy tortoise defence that Pavlik would rip apart. Abraham would be left on the canvas drooling

Abraham's a tough bastard who I think will be stronger down the stretch, he should be able to counter Pavlik who's not terribly difficult to find. As a puncher Pavlik is a little overrated, not his power so much as his hand speed, the fact he punches fairly wide, often arm punches, etc... his best asset is his power which is neutralised by Abrahams toughness (I also think Abraham will have an easier time hurting Pavlik). Aside from that there's nothing about Pavliks offence i'm to worried about aside from workrate, if he was a better mover i'd be more worried since those angles would be what you need to break open Abrahams defence.
He could outwork Abraham, but I think Abraham will eventually stop him late. Taylor matches up better with Abraham in my opinion, as long as he keeps his head together.
Pavlik would win. Abraham has too much barrage and fights too inactively. Kelly just has it all. He is able to floor Miranda or Taylor with similar fashion.

FUCK YEAH :thumbsup
He's the linear, undefeated middleweight champ of the world now.
He beat the man who beat the man. :deal
Even though im an Abraham fan, right now if I were to make a decision on who would win, the logical choice would be Pavlik. With that said, I think Abraham would put up a better effort than Taylor or any other middleweight out there today. I would say the fight would be a %60-%40 split in favor of Pavlik.
Abrahams superior foot work is his winning factor.
Pavliks work rate would be his winning factor.

:? - no, not even close...footwork was never an advantage for Abraham.
AA's punching power plus Pavlik's leaky defence would be the winning factor for Abraham.

Tom I would suggest you watch the Ikeke fight. Kingsley is 6'4, 2 inches taller than Pavlik with a similar style. The reason Abraham won, was because he was jumping in and out of range and keeping Ikeke off balance while landing his own bombs. This is what Abraham will have to imploy to win the fight against the Ghost. As much as I respect Abrahams ability, I honestly dont believe he can win against Pavlik if he trys to slug it out with him. He has to use his boxing ability and cleverness.

watch the miranda fight, watch the ikeke fight!!
footwork and precise counterpunching is abrahams biggest strength.
this would be 50/50 imo.
Heres a video of what im talking about. Notice how abraham shortens the distance by moving in fast, landing his punches and getting out before Ikeke is able to throw. You could see it throughout the video. He has a great mastery of range and this will be his tool to victory.

I know, I know - thanks for the reminder...Abraham must have been very sloppy in his last fight because I haven't seen those assets in his last 2 fights...
@bum: who come you see this fight 50/50, I thought you can't stand AA...
That mastery of range comes from sparring with Ottke early in his career, that´s one of the few things Ottke was really good at. You´re right here but all around AA doesn´t have the best footwork.
His foot work is not conventional by any means, but still highly effective. When his figting a puncher he impolys it alot, but when his fighting boxers or fighters who are no threat he just covers up and takes them. I doubt hill do that against Pavlik though.

pavlik wins. pavlik has too long a reach, high work rate, great power > AA fights in spurts, tends to go to a shell, good power. i dont know why some of you are questioning pavliks chin. yeah he went down in the second but how many flush shots did it take to bring him down? taylor tough not a one shot KO artist can crack with the right, and was tagging pavlik flush with hooks on the way down.

i don't know who wins, i don't care who wins... i just wanna see it. what i definetely don't wanna see is a rematch against taylor. i thought taylor would win, i had him ahead, i even think he could win the rematch, but first i wanna see some more slugfests, and i'm not sure taylor/pavlik will be able to live up to its expectations.
pavlik vs abraham go!!

Both Abraham and Sturm will avoid Pavlik, they will put their paper titles in a vault somwehre in germany and never dare step in a ring with Pavlik.
Pavlik will have no trouble defending his title, after a defense or two he should move up to Super Middle and take on the top dog there at the time.
Well Sturm should avoid him but I dont think Abraham will.
Lets see; Winky is calling out Oscar, Bernard is calling out Calzaghe, and Calzaghe is calling out Pavlik.
Pavlik would definately make more money fighting Calzaghe but wouldn't Calzaghe or Kessler make more money fighting Hopkins? Maybe not now.

I dont like Abraham, he wont fight Pavlik he'll duck him. After this and the MIranda fight theres no way he wants to fight Pavlik.
I would say his promoters wouldnt allow that but Abraham would fight everyone.

Abraham UD. I dont think Pavlik will be able to with someone with great defence and power.

If Miranda could kick his ass, what makes you think Pavlik can't?
Miranda didn't kick AA ass - AA was just smart after the jaw breaking experience...
btw, Pavlik might win via UD, but I can't see him KOing AA...

Pavlik wins by KO. It simply boggles my mind that Abraham barely wins a war with Miranda, and is still considered by many to be better than Pavlik. These are the same people who claim that Miranda was overrated to justify their own claims about Pavlik.
Pavlik is a great fighter who is not yet elite, but Abraham is protected for a reason. Pavlik has a 90.6% KO rate, eliminating 11 of his last 12 fighters by TKO, so if he wins, chances are its going to be by KO.
Abraham relies on hooks to damage his opponents, to a much greater degree than straight shots. Pavliks defence is bad against straight shots, but good against hooks. Abraham has never been in a fight against an opponent who throws good, straight power shots at a busy rate.
The high number of people stating that Abraham will win is due to a combination of Euro hype, sour grapes, and a knowledge of the fact that Abraham's promoters would never let him fight Pavlik (so they won't have to eat crow).
I hope this fight is made next - if it is, Pavlik will continue to pad my vcash pockets.
