Isn't he gonna fight in America now?

RTL= german TV station, these fuckers show commercials between the rounds:twisted:
Sturm is not with Universum anymore, but the case is in the courts... Universum does not accept Sturm's leaving...
At least the german TV audience does not have to bear Ploog anymore....

So not planning on dusting off his passport for any more HBO appearances any time soon, then. :think
Shame, he's the #2 in the division and defending a more respectable belt than the one he "lost" to Oscar in Vegas.
Hopefully his run doesn't turn into too much of a farce, it'd be great if up and comers like Macklin, Jacobs, Golovkin or N'Dam N'jikam could be lured into taking the bait in Germany so we can see a few good matches out of this 10.

Agree, I hate the damn commercials from bell to bell.
Universum didn't accept the Klitschkos leaving either and took them to court, it didn't work out well for Kohl :D

Well, Golovkin is his mandatory and he may beat him in his first fight at RTL.
RTL is one of the reasons boxing got big again in Germany. They showed the Maske and Schulz and later the Ottke and Klitschko fights. Aside from the commercials between rounds they are much preferable to ZDF and Ploog.

Report over at the scene of boxing.
Apart from the Klit brothers, do RTL show many fights?
Does this deal indicate they'll be taking up some of the slack from ZDF?
The article on BC you mention is about him signing a 10-fight contract with Ufa Sports.
According to Bild Ufa Sports made a deal with RTL.
The article does not say Sturm signed a contract with RTL, let alone for 10 fights.
RTL owns Ufa Sports..and yes its rumoured to be for atleast 10 fights

Ok well that clears up some confusion.
But Sturm's fights will take place in the US right? Wonder why he signed with UFA then..
And, if his fights will take place in the US, why would RTL be that interested in showing them in the middle of the night? I can't imagine THAT many people tuning in at 5am for Sturm..

Where did you hear that he would fight in the US? Just asking, because this is the first time I have heard of that.

I thought I read somewhere that he ''went to the U.S.''.
But it doesn't make a lot of sense if he signed with RTL and/or UFA Sports. I think I misread it.
I doubt that Sturm will have a big fan base in the USA. His career was built in Germany and he is popular there. I think that it makes more sense to stay and fight in Germany and for 1 or 2 big fights to go to the USA - for instance against Pavlik. But without Universum, I guess, it will not be easy to complete good cards in Germany. RTL shows only main events but the people who attend it live will need more than just Sturm.

I read he will earn 20 million for signing the 10 fight deal.

All up to the law suit against universum, im not sure if its pending or not even started yet, but Universum on principle never let any of their top fighters go without trying to drag them before court
