With the knock down, Taylor was up by atleast 2 or 3 points.

Pavlik by one point, 57-56, after 6 rounds. Lederman had it right, the corrupt judges had it wrong. WAY wrong.

With Taylor involved, not a surprise.

I had Taylor WELL ahead, especially since I felt the 2nd was a three point round. That's what made Pavlik's comeback so impressive.

Pavlik was up 57-56. I watched the fight 3 times now and there is no way in HELL Taylor was ahead by 3 or 4 points. pavlik had more power shots, more jabs and was clearly the aggressor.

If people had Taylor up by a point, I can see it. Taylor up by 2?... not likely. Up by 3?... are you kidding me? NO WAY IN HELL. Up 4?....... you should never be allowed to watch another boxing event again. Period.

Thank God those corrupt judges were not able to fucc boxing fans all over the world... again. Kelly Pavlik made sure of that in a monstrous way. :hi:

As the ESB votes suggest; Taylor was winning the fight ‘before’ the stoppage with the knockdown in round two.

Respect to Pavlik though, he finished Taylor when he had him hurt, while Taylor couldn’t do the same when he had Pavlik hurt.

:bbb :!:

PAvlik was landing the cleaner harder shots. Taylor LOOKED good because he was so fast, flashy and explosive but PAvlik was continously edging forward landing clean, hard blows.

Had em at 3rds. a piece with Taylor up 1pt. Because of the KD. Having Taylor up 3 or 4 pts. is fucking ludicrous, he clearly lost the 1st, 3rd, and 5th rds.

I don't get what the judges are seeing in these Taylor fights...

Pavlik was, IMO, winning the fight by at least 2 points and that's counting the KD. :-(

What bullshit are you guys talking about? Re-watch the goddamn fight!

Its obvious this was a close fight going into that round. Telling everyone to re-watch it will not change their points of view. It was very close with some rounds going either way. The poll indicates this.

Its like he's fucking Derren Browne in there, I can't understand how he does it, is it because he has such good technique that he LOOKS like he should be winning the fight?

No Taylor was landing clean alot of the time. Hell, he was landing some hard shots too. Pavlik was applying good pressure and landing some shots, but missing alot as well. It was a good close fight.

I had Taylor up by 2 going into the 7th

Fighting Weight
09-30-2007, 02:33 PM
I can't see how anyone could think Pavlik was ahead going into the 7th, he lost every round apart from the 3rd. Maybe the 4th could have been scored an even round or slightly to Pavlik but that's it, he certainly wasn't ahead.

1st PAvlik 10-9. Taylor started strong but PAvlik took over and was busier from the middle to the end of the round, it was close but I think PAvlik

2nd Taylor 10-8 dominated and knocked down Pavlik

3rd PAvlik 10-9 Clear round for PAvlik, rocked JT

4th Pavlik 10-9 Closer round but I thought he continued to press the action.

5th JT 10-9 Taylor landed more in that round

6th Pavlik 10-9 Pavlik went back to popping the jab and pressing the action

PAvlik by 1 round.

Pavlik landed over 40 punches to 25 or so for Taylor, even Steward knows Kelly won that rd.

I had it 3 rds a piece, so with the KD, I think Taylor was up by a point. Most of the rounds were close, and I could see giving the champion the benefit of the doubt in a close round, but to not give the nod to the aggressor (Pavlik) in any of the rounds is awful judging.

The most glaring argument for Pavilk atleast being within a point or even up in the fight is the fact that Emanuel Steward said in between atleast TWO rounds that JT had just lost that round and was behind on the scorecards. Then, after the fight JT was obviously surprised when Larry Merchant told him that he was up by 3 and 4 points on the cards. JT not only was surprised, but actually said "I thought I was losing".
All of this being said by the trainer and fighter themselves that lost is quite damning evidence to some seriously poor judging.
