DAVID HAYE has been told to put off fighting rival world heavyweight champ Vitali Klitschko.
British title-holder Danny Williams was crushed in eight painful rounds by the giant Ukrainian in 2004.

He said: "The longer the fight doesn't take place is going to be in Haye's favour.

"Vitali is showing signs he might be starting to decline, so David should leave it as long as possible."

WBA champion Haye, 29, has vowed to knock out WBC belt-holder Vitali, 38.

If Haye is stalling a Vitali fight to get him when he's old, its a cowardly way to be a champion

That might be the way Danny Williams would do it but its not very gutsy is it?

Lets hope Haye appreciates the longer he leaves it, the more critisizm he will get.

I genuinely believe Haye would fight him next week if he could. He is already old, slow and past it and has been for some time. This has always been the easier of the two brothers for Haye it's just that all of a sudden a lot of others agree

Give him a few months off and Vit will be back to the condition he was in against fat Peter.

The style that Vit uses these days doesn't seem the type where a fighter would just lose the ability to employ it overnight. Theres no great movement, no blinding reflexes.

there was little chance of Khan getting a shot at Marquez even if ****** wasnt going to put Khan in with him, lets be honest moving up in weight instead of waiting is more impatient than cowardly isnt it.

Lets be even more honest, Khan isn't really a world champion is he? He's a plastic claiment. About as plastic as you can get.

British fighters beat enough shot fighters.

Haye should take him now - if he wins he gets great credit, if he loses he will get credit as a gallant small man.

Haye would fight him tomorrow, He's not arsed about losing... He's no fraud.

I believe in Haye, the guy is old-school in his approach and would fight anyone I believe to further his career. Whether he'd beat Vitali though is unclear to me......

I always thought the same..but pulling out against Wlad and Vitali then taking on the easier option in Valuev has left a few doubts.

Still maybe the paper WBA title will give him more power at the negotiating table.

Vitali has never been knocked out or hurt in the ring (you may bring the eye clinic against Sir Lennox but that was external), so I dont see how he can improve his chances based on this tactic.

Lewis almost had him out in the sixth and he staggered back to his corner afterward, Sanders had him hurt in their fight.

I dont need a biography of Vitali's past fights thanks. You clearly dont know my knowledge or experience of boxing.

Id like to see Haye do well but Vitali kills him.

Lets face it Hays chin is terrible and would be lucky to see the middle rounds.

It wasn't the way Williams did it. He fought arguably the best version of Vitali.

Rubbish.

Lewis and Sanders would disagree as would most sound posters.

So you all think Haye has more power than Lewis, Sanders and Hide? That remains to be seen at HW.

But nobody wants to talk about Haye's chin? Because it looks as dodgy as Herbie Hides.

indeed, Williams was a very ballsy fighter, and the signs are that Haye is the same and just wants to test himself against the best.

Haye's chin isn't as bad as many make out and it certainly is not in the same league as Hide, who would be blown over by a stiff breeze.

If Haye does delay it will be for financial reasons and nothing else. He's very smart when it comes to the business side of boxing but unlike some others he's also got goals and ambitions other than making money. The fight will get made when it makes sense on both counts. Look forward to watching it.

Exactly, & Haye would win. Vitali has stamina issues. He was knackered against Johnson & it was not even a fight at a decent pace, evne for HW's!

Did you see the Vitali Arreola fight? Vitali threw over 1000 punches and never stopped all night. Johnson fought in a shell and would have made anyone look bad.

You rly dont have a clue...Haye's the one with questionable stamina and chin...Vitali's chin and stamina is well proven at HW and stood up to LL.

Haye has been dropped by journeymen and gassed vs Thompson...dropped by Mormeck and Barrett.

Some people need to get real here.

That's pretty cynical. Not what we want to hear really and it's sad to hear Dan speak like this.

Thats the most idiotic post i have seen in ages.

Vitali threw more punches, so to did Johnson than Haye did in his whole fight against Valuev.

Im not saying it wasnt a good performance by Haye, it was, but to say Vitali has stamina issues is deranged.

Danny is a fighter who is just after paydays now.

But Danny's guts are beyond question. One of the guttsiest fighters we've ever had.

Haye wants to beat the best. Pure and simple!

I disagree.

Not with the punches thrown because that is obvious.

But the Haye fight was faught at a higher tempo. Just most of it was dancing/running.

Vitali looked old and laborious in the johnson fight.

Vitali has a huge chin and stamina advantage over Haye.
