I'm too damned tired now to write a ton of stuff. I'll get around to it. Just want to say I'm one HappyCamper:cool: and to those who said Kelly was too slow, a B level fighter, never really been tested, gets hit too much, all that crap. I'm sure you see now why I believed in him so much, because I knew that as long as he could survive the initial onslaught, that eventually this would happen:

I thought Kelly's lack of defense would be his downfall in this fight. In 2nd round it looked like that's what would happen. However, this kid showed alot of heart. He got back up, listened to his corner and got to work with that jab. Great win for Kelly.
Pavlik is a man and a great fighter.

Great win for Kelly, but his defense is terrible. He has a good chin, so it's not an issue yet, but if unaddressed, the accumulated damage will eventually shorten his career.

JETSKI were you at the fight? How did that 2nd round look like from the stands. Pavlik gave me a scare there but he went back to the basics after that and dominated. I had him up by 1 point at the time of the stoppage.

Yep, I was there. The 2nd round was scary as hell! I knew JT was gonna come out smoking early in the fight. I was praying Pavlik would last. There was more than a minute to go after he was rocked. But damn, did Kelly come on in the very next round. It was a great fight. Everytime Taylor was against the ropes, the end was possible. I saw the right hand that started the beginning of the end for JT.
What an experience that I'll never forget!:good

You got dissed? How about me getting dissed...by 2 different peeps that told me to call them after the fight to find out where the party will be, but the where "unavailable" on theirs cell phones.
It didn't matter. I'll get to shake KP's hand one day. They'll be other opportunities.

Great fight.. Kelly did exactly what he was supposed to.. Absolutely tremendous fight..
Jermaine boxed beautifully , had Kelly out in the 2nd then continued to dominate for most of the battle..
Pavlik brings the end... Straight out of nowhere..
A memorable fight...........

Looking back over the last few months, anticipating this fight, all the hype, all the negitive stuff that was said about Kelly. I guess it is fair to say that it is "very cool" what has transpired.
I'm gonna ride this wave as long as I can, because I remember too well all the disappointing defeats my fighters have suffered in the past. This win really makes up for it.
And ya know what? As much as I wanted to see Kelly win for my own enjoyment, I'm happier for him that he won even more so than myself. This guy wasn't respected for years & finally now will receicve the credit the deserves.

Kelly can give anyone trouble with his heart, determination and sheer power.
But what I'm the most impressed by is his fast hands and his jab, I never thought he would outjab Taylor.

Taylor was faster & still is, but its Kellys timing of his jab & his reach thats allows him to slam it in there. And what you said about heart & determination making him a tough task for anyone is something I've been trying to drive home for awhile. Sounds like people are finally starting to listen.

Well, I guess I am lucky that the fight was in Atlantic City or I wouldn't have been there. Of course, unless they held it at the Garden in NYC.
I ALMOST decided not to go to this one. Thanks to the guys that told me not to miss it. It sure was a hell of a way to end my vacation!

I liked what I've seen in Pavlik for a few years now. I knew he would get to this point, but not without some bumps along the way. Pavlik is one detremined dude with alot of talent & what skills he lacks he makes up for with ring intelligence. Of course this is all BS, cause when you can punch like Pavlik, its only a matter of time.

Why do you say that? Run a poll & see how 75% will say B Hop would beat him. Sure he's old, but so many here think he's God in the ring. I think KP KO's him easier than Taylor. OK, I saw in another thread that your feeling is Kelly would get killed by B Hop. That's fine & now it doesn't sound like such a bad idea. You can only become a legend by defeating a legend.

:!: I still favor Hopkins to beat anyone 175 and down, including Pavlik. In fact, I think Pavlik's straight-forward style would play right into Hopkins's strategy. There's a hell of an article on the front page about "What if....Hopkins vs. Pavlik". It more or less sums up my views on the matter. :smoke

great fight. The only advantages Taylor ever had over Pavlik were hand speed and resume and neither helped him out in this fight.
