No details, but a good source from another site is saying the IBO have withdrawn from sanctioning this as a title fight due to Team Mundine's unacceptable demands.

So at this point it's not for any IBO belt.

We'l have to wait until Phil gets in.

long and short of it is, we did not withdraw sanctioning, but neither would we agree to all NSW officials being used. we wouldn't move on this and he apparently pulled the plug on the title yesterday. As far as we were concerned this issue was not up for debate for is. Both camps objected to all bar one Oz official for whatever reasons tthey may have had which left us no choice considering we have a limited list of oficials wolrd wide

Sceptics could be forgiven for thinking that this might be a weight issue.
If there was an ounce of credibility left it's evaporated now.

" The Fraud " should retire ASAP. No press conferences PLEASE !!!!!!!

Sounds like a case of "The Man" believing he is bigger than the sport.

Good on the IBO for digging their heels in and not buckling to the demands of this smoke and mirrors act.

Hopefully the IBO will drop this fraud for good and concentrate on building their organisation here in Australia around boxers who have an honest respect for the sport.

Time for Choc and Khoder to retire to the comfort of the counting room.

The whole excersise was only ever about money and it succeeded.

Go away and don't come back!

"Grange OSB never had a problem with the final officials selected by the IBO. They had raised objections over a couple of the local officials we had on our list as did Khoder Nasser with a couple of others. This left one Australian on and the rest made up with Steve Scott from NZ and Pat Russell (ref) and Clark Samartino from the US....Grange had no problem with this"

Khoder, in usual fashion wants 3 NSW judges. Being a title bout, its only fair 2 judges remain non-Australian representatives.

I wonder if Khoder will request for the IBO to place a title on the line in Mundines next proposed bout with Shannan McMahon????

So Grange had a problem with Khoders choice of hand picked officials.

I don't blame them. Good to see the IBO not bowing to Khoders demands. The real disappointment is that I wont get to see Mundine needing help walking up the stairs in to the ring after starving himself for 6 weeks. And collecting my cash after Medley pounds him in to submission.

Watch Mundine come in at 165 pounds now. :patsch

Most camps would welcome the appointment of overseas judges based on impartiality.

Except Khoder Nasser. And to walk away from a title because all three judges wont be from NSW? That's just patheic.

A little surprised that a little over a week before the fight, the IBO hadn't confirmed who the judges would be. Is that normal practice Phil?

You seem quite comfortable in numerous threads Ash to say 'we'll know in the next day or two', or 'Khoder will kiss and make up with the IBO in the next day or two'.

What are you inferring Ash, this is scripted and to help promote a fight that needs all the help in the world to promote because of say, a 'lack of credability'?

I would have never thought such antics would be in Khoder's nature... but then again, you'd know being Khoder's PR man...:yep

You don't see the angles my ass Ash!

Taken from my other thread response to save me typing -

Ash, your two best mates have never in their whole time relied on positive promotion of boxing as a sport, they have always relied on the 'please hate me' approach, hence this is just another avenue to create tension and as such talk / promotion for the fight.

Just one question Ash, weren't you Mundine and Khoder able to get your WBA officials for this fight? Fucking wankers, you and them think we're all stupid on here with this shit and your on-going nuthugging drivel.

If Khoder has pulled out of a ppv title fight because he didn't get the THREE judges he wanted, then it's the lamest most pathetic decision ever taken by a manager.

There's no pull out Jet, it's just another pathetic 'spoiler' this camp's renowned for.

Desperate since their main main Danny Green (No I'm not a Green nuthugger and no Mundine will never admit he desperately needs Green even though he does) won his bout and has saturated the media since causes them to try any angle possible.

Didn't you say it before Jet, come this far and not fight for a belt?? Fucking please, not much of a 'Pioneer' then is he?

I don't doubt you for a minute mate.

This camp never cease to amaze. I'm thinking...they never had any attention of fighting for a belt in the first place...they conveniently and selfishly used the IBO and it's belt for nothing more than a promotional tool.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit. Mundine probably had no intention of making jnr middle and therefore no intention of contesting the belt. But it was a sharp promotional tool to latch on to that allowed him to spew more rubbish about winning another title and creating history.

At the end of the day, we will probably be left with Medley v Mundine at what ever weight they agree on (reads: whatever weight Mundine wants)...and guess what...still $50 on mainevent. :-(

See what happens I guess....hope I'm wrong.

No mate, I reckon it has every bit of hope (100%) of happening! It's just a simple way of creating more talk for the fight.

If it doesn't, yep your 100% right, whatever Mundine wants, he will do. MainEvent won't say "hang on a minute" as he's their cash cow and Medley's not going to say no as it's the only serious payday he's going to see (can't knock him for that can we?)

It's just another event in the 'conquering the world' career of Anthony Mundine. All the while whilst he continues to mock and milk the sport of boxing.

This isn't surprising...

In all the fuss, people are forgetting that Mundine moving down from 168 to 154 to fight Medley is a farce, when he only managed to weigh in within the MW limit of 160 twice in 4 fights:

one in which he went 12 rounds with Shannan Taylor - who was stopped in 5 rounds 2 fights later by Sherrington.
the other in which he won by controversial split decision over Geale and was mandated by the IBO to rematch him - instead he vacated the belt.
He should have fought his mandatory @ 168 in Kessler after calling him out for a rematch for 2 years.

He should be rematching Geale instead of giving up the belt.

He should be agreeing to the IBO's requirements in regards to 2 non-Australian officials for the Medley fight so that at the very least, the IBO 154 title is up for grabs to add a shred of credibility to the whole sham.

I think this latest thing is simply to draw attention away from the fact that Mundine has ducked Kessler and Geale and run all the way from 168 to 154. When Nasser and the IBO eventually agree and the 154 title is back up for grabs in this fight, the 'general public' will all believe Mundine's 'Pioneer' bullshit

Ali went the distance with Joe Frazier then joe went on to be punished by Forman this only shows that Ali was a distance fighter who is capable of breaking fighters down and winning on points. I am NOT comparing
Mundine to Ali but he fights the same strategy :deal So Taylor being knoked out in the next fight bears no significance on the one with Mundine.

Controversial or not he beat Geale thats it he won to me it's not controversial if out of three judges two seen it same way this is why we have three judges :rofl:rofl

I agree however that he should be chasing Kessler and give Geale another shot.

Again I have seen no PROOF that the fight is off or that it is not for a belt a week out from the fight and all we have is this thread:deal:deal

long and short of it is, we did not withdraw sanctioning, but neither would we agree to all NSW officials being used. we wouldn't move on this and he apparently pulled the plug on the title yesterday. As far as we were concerned this issue was not up for debate for is. Both camps objected to all bar one Oz official for whatever reasons tthey may have had which left us no choice considering we have a limited list of oficials wolrd wide

IBO's Australian delegate Phil Austin not good enough proof for you spidot?

Well Im not convinced mate, i personally will wait till the official announcment on this because givin the amount of hatred towards mundine Phil could have sold this story to the news and made $$$$ by selling it to the sports writers for first dibs they would have a field day if this was true as a matter a fact I would say the reason they havent written this is because they would be investigating if it is true. They would have contacted mundine and not been able to confirm this story so they havent written it.

Come on we are wekk out from the fight I doubt they'll drop this bombshell the day before and still charge $50 for the fight the nation would go bananas!!!

Just realised that a lot of the characters on here know little about boxing and can only fault you on miss gramma and your opinions not on fact!

I am hoping that someone comes out and confirms this via Newspaper or sports columns because Phil Austin's comments seem to confirm that it is done and dusted a sham so I am hoping for his sake he is right or it's his credibility on the line!!

But if he is and this is all true and it's over then mine is on the line and i will step away!!!:hi:

I've given up on following Choc and watching his fights but this fight is stupid even for his embarrassingly low standards.

Why is he going after Medley? Medley makes Crazy Kim look like a legitimate opponent, and secondly why in fucks name is he trying tee up a fight at 154? He looked like a ghost at 160 and was chinny against Crazy Kim and that wasn't even at 160. A career SMW trying to drain his way down to 154 to fight a journeyman? Baffling to say the least.

I have, one might say, a duty to inform that this bout is now not going ahead for our title wouldn't you say? The revised contracts are for a middleweight contest I am informed that Boxrec have been advised it is for the WBA International title. Bye bye!

Choc to give up shot at history over IBO feud

BRAD WALTER

January 5, 2010 .

ANTHONY MUNDINE is SET TO turn his back on the opportunity to win another world title next Monday night by refusing to fight under the jurisdiction of the IBO.

Instead, Mundine's bout with fellow Australian Rob Medley at Sydney Entertainment Centre is now LIKELY to be for the WBA middleweight international title.

The move comes after six months of tension between the Mundine camp and IBO officials since he claimed the middleweight world title from Tasmania's Daniel Geale in Brisbane last July.

Mundine also plans to relinquish that belt rather than agree to an IBO ruling that he fight Geale again before February 27, but there is still a possibility of a re-match between the pair at some later time. However, it will not be for the IBO belt as Mundine does not intend to have any future involvement with the organisation.

The bad blood between Team Mundine and the IBO follows the organisation's questioning of Mundine's points win over Geale. It is the only time Mundine, who had twice previously won WBA super middleweight belts, had fought in an IBO-sanctioned bout and he found it an unhappy experience.

It was felt that Geale's manager, Bill Tracey, was encouraged to lodge an official protest against the decision after allegations that English judge Marcus McDonnell was verbally intimidated by a pro-Mundine spectator.

Tracey also complained about the appointment of Queensland judge Derek Milham, who he alleged had assisted the Mundine camp to negotiate past bouts within the WBA, and raised questions about referee Gary Dean interrupting the fight on five occasions when tapes on Mundine's gloves came loose.

The IBO asked three new judges to view a replay of the bout and re-score it, with two of them awarding the fight to Geale. However, Geale's appeal was dismissed as the result had to be unanimous for the original decision to be overturned.

The bout against Medley will proceed but the Herald understands it will now fall under the jurisdiction of the WBA and will no longer be fought at junior middleweight.

The decision robs Mundine of the chance to become the first boxer in history to win world titles in three descending weight classes, but after being on target to make the 69.7kg division at Sunday's weigh-in, he may attempt to do so in the future.

After training up to three times a day for the past month, Mundine began a strict diet last Monday in a bid to drop five kilos before the fight.

Meanwhile, a decision on Roy Jones jnr's bid to have his first-round loss to Danny Green in the December 2 IBO cruiserweight world title fight at Acer Arena reversed is not expected until early next month. The treatment of Jones, a close friend and mentor of Mundine's, is believed to have had an influence on the Australian's decision not to fight under the IBO.

Jones wants the result reversed to a disqualification victory, citing illegal use of hand wraps by Green, and has filed a formal complaint to the NSW Combat Sports Authority demanding an independent investigation and hearing

What contract are you talking about exactly? I am the representative for the IBO in this region, a fight that was sanctioned for one of our titles is no longer happening for our title. I have, one might say, a duty to inform that this bout is now not going ahead for our title wouldn't you say? The revised contracts are for a middleweight contest I am informed that Boxrec have been advised it is for the WBA International title. Bye bye!

It turns out i was absolutly right Phil you were breaking a lot of rules guess i am not so much an idiot as you think huh??? happy holidays!!

spidiot...you said you had a job...?

what is it......sucking on mundogs constipated ass?

the difference between you and phill austin.

austin has 2 jobs. spidiot has none.
austin is respected. spidiot is a spastic.
austin is someone. spidiot is no one. never was, never will be.
austin will continue to be someone. spidiot will continue to be a drug fucked, woman bashing, child molesting, carrier of STD's.
austin is liked and respected on this forum. spidiot is regarded as a fool.
austin will be in the boxing game, high profile for the next 30 years. spidiot will be lucky to be on esb, as he is broke, cant afford internet fees, has to bash drunks to get to a net cafe, and has to pay for his drug habit.
