Talk about being thrown right into the deep end. I would of prefered he fight Fisher or even Stout first. If he can pull it off the win, he will be right back in the mix. I just hope he trains well and comes in good shape. If he does, he could pull it off. Should be a entertaining fight.

Very good fight, actually. No messing around with either of them. Puts Florian right back up there and a perfect way to bring around Gomi vs. Penn, though it really doesn't matter anyway seen as whoever faces Penn is just gonna be flattened.

First things first, Gomi needs to get a few good wins under his belt. Even he does that, I'm sure BJ will be fighting at 170 by then anyway. I know Gomi wants the rematch but he should forgot about it and focus on earning the right, which won't be easy.

Id be surprised if Gomi can even take Florian down at this point. I'm sure he would want to keep it standing anyway. I wanted him to fight a Fisher or Stout for his first UFC fight. Not sure how I feel about the Florian fight. Its a big fight, could be just what he needs to be motivated or as you said it could end embarrassingly for him. I have a feeling (and hope) he will surprise a lot of people.

Sucks for Gomi. Florian's pretty much the best LW in the UFC outside of Penn, and I think he matches up very well with Gomi.
