70% Excitement, 30% significance is my chosen criteria. In order to be a great fight it must first be an exciting, competitive affair. Whether it be by pure volume of punches being thrown, or shifts in momentum. I also take significance into consideration and the quality of the combatants. A fight like Somsak Sithchatchawlan vs Mahyar Monshipou was wonderful action, but it gets zero points in the significance category, and it wasn't performed at a particularly high level in comparison to other candidates. Any way, I won't pretend that I gave this mountains of thought, so here we go.
1. Marco Antonio Barrera vs Erik Morales I (2000)
2. Jose Luis Castillo vs Diego Corrales I (2005)
3. Israel Vasquez vs Rafael Marquez III (2008 )
4. Somsak Sithchatchawlan vs Mahyar Monshipou (2006)
5. Israel Vasquez vs Rafael Marquez II (2007)
6. Felix Trinidad vs Fernando Vargas (2000)
7. Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez II (2007)
8. Aturo Gatti vs Micky Ward I (2002)
9. Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz (2009 )
0. Lennox Lewis vs Vitali Klitschko (2003)
Missed the cut: Cotto vs Torres / Marquez vs Pacquiao (1) / Vasquez vs Marquez (1) / Burton vs Augutus / Barrera vs Morales (3) / Williams vs Martinez / etc.
Cotto vs Margarito was purposefully excluded due to the controversy surrounding it. Lewis vs Vitali may be a surprise to some but I think the action is very very exciting, and you seldom see more significant fights than Heavyweight title fights. It was a great, great fight. Marquez vs Pacquiao the rematch got in as opposed to their first effort, because it was practically P4P 2 and 3 going at it at their respective peaks, it was a great technical fight, great action and shifts in momentum.
Let's here your top 10.

I donīt do list fights, I just enjoy them. One recent fight I enjoyed very much was Erdei-Fragomeni. That fight had everything, a good technical showing in the early rounds from Erdei and than you have a fighter out-slugging a 20 pounds heavier, albeit limited, world champ despite running out of gas.
That fight was fun but also made me angry because Erdeiīs talent was wasted for most of his career by his promoters and this fight showed what he had despite him beeing already a bit past it.

I honestly dont like it, i think its 9 rounds of smothered inside fighting then 1 amazing round. I have watched it once and am not to keen on watching it again after being so disappointed by the sloppiness of the inside work, but the 10th round was amazing

You're just tryin to be a different aren't you, Greg.
Complaining about the sloppiness of it and then having Gatti/Ward at 6 is comedy gold.

No im being serious, at least Gatti and Ward were trading clean shots, whereas Corralles and Castillo were inside being sloppy as hell, Gatti and Ward were trading hard shots.

I knew you were on the cuff of blindness when you had Pryor only 1 point up prior to the stoppage in his first with Arguello, but this sealed the deal.

Naw seriously though I just dont like the fight I think it is very sloppy work, in terms of smothering each other whereas Gatti and Ward were sloppy but that made the figth more exciting as they were hitting each other.
Anyway I prefer a skilled bout thats why Barrera vs Morales 1 and Marquez vs Vasquez 3 are a long way out in front.

I thought Gatti's fight with Baldomir, even with Damgaard was a hell of alot more entertaining than the last two Gatti-ward fights.
It's a shame that trilogy is going to be remembered as fondly as it is.
