View Full Version : Retards in my gym

My local gym has the usual Fitness (tread mill exercise bikes etc) area , free weights machines and a boxing/MMA area down stairs
I am used to seeing retards in the gym using some of the weight machines wrong but today's moron takes the cake
This guy was at a lat pull down station holding the wide bar and standing up and sitting down to move the weight - wtf - what a retard
One of my other favorites is watching the fatties on the exercise bikes - pedaling away w/o even putting the bike on to any course or setting - they probably get off the bike and go "yeah , just done 30 minutes of cycling- why aren't I losing any weight?"
Anyone else got any good retard in the gym stories?
There's one that immediately comes to mind ...
I was doing bag work, and since I sweat a lot and our gym floor tends to get slippery very quick, I always bring an extra towel to keep me from dripping on the floor. I wipe myself between rounds and then put it back behind the bag I'm working on. So during rounds I wanted to get my towel, but the guy next to me was using it to mop the floor. He did not wipe himself, so there was a disgusting pool of sweat underneath his bag, and he was using MY TOWEL to clean it. I got furious and asked him wtf he was doing? He told me he had no idea it was my towel, and I yelled back to him that he must have known it wasn't his either. He did not apologise so I remained mad at him for weeks, I actually wanted to punch his face in (deep inside, I never threatened that's not my style). I'm a bit childish with things like this, I can't let it go, it's just not in me.
We're cool now though, he apologised a while ago and I admitted I may have overreacted.
Old man in short running shorts doing inappropriate stretches. That's all I'm gonna say.

Gyms should have inductions, that way retards wouldn't waste their time.

Middle aged cougars on exercise balls is a good for a giggle.
Full blown bodybuilders who drink their protein-shakes at the public bar but pretending they gained all that muscle from hard work. lmfao

My gym has an induction it involves 2 weight machines and 2 cardio machines and your good to go:D hence lots of retards. Theres nearly always gym instructors in there but i rarely see them correcting anyone they just stand at the back with the meat heads talking and seeing how much they can lift. And the meat heads that look at you like you dont belong there, feel like saying ill happily knock you out " muscles " lol:hey
I actually have a ton of respect for the fatties on the cardio machines at least there doing something about it and making an effort as well as the embarrassment factor

Ok, these aren’t retards necessarily, but they surely are irritating:
- Old geezers who approach you and start conversations in the locker room while being butt nekkid.
- Guys whose workouts are nothing but bicep curls.
- People who wear too much perfume or not enough deodorant.
- Girlfriends who give their boyfriends massages while they workout.
- Did I already mention the nekkid dude trying to talk about last night’s game?

Apparently these people are at every gym. Ugh!
The last annoying person I encountered was a woman and her friend in the hot tub. They kept allowing their 4 year old to run and jump in the damn thing! I'm trying to unwind and relax and this kid is doing cannonballs into an 8' hot tub! Mind you, there is a huge sign saying no children under 5 allowed in the tub as well. It's not too relaxing to get splashed in the face by a kid with a swim diaper on.

- Little dude who throws little weights around.
- Person sitting on the bikes doing nothing but watching the televisions.
- Person poppin zits in the mirror (wtf!!!)
- Boxing gym rats who don't spar but like to talk like pros
Had a body builder not long ago just throw up his massive protien drink all over the bubbler and floor. He did not look he felt 1 bit guilty either. :fire:fire
Also if your at a boxing gym, some peoples grunts when they hit the heavy bag can be nothing short of hilarious :lol::lol::lol:

I have no problem with the Fatties who are actually in there trying - in fact good for them
my bef was with the fatties who get on the cycles and just pedal without actually choosing a program - they are just wasting their time.
And they probably go home and scoff 10 more donuts cuz after all they think they deserve it with all their hard work :patsch

What gets me are those who don't bother with educating themselves. I knew this one chick who spends hours doing ab crunches, and she'd always complain about why she still has her large gut...
The worse part about it is when you try to point them in the right direction and they just resent you for it. So I stop bothering with them...

that does make me laugh the fatties on the ab machines and weight machines and do 10 mins on the cross trainer. Its like you might have the best abs in the world but we aint gunna see em with all that fat lol:lol:
Hearing all these stories I'm glad I haven't been in a fitness gym in years. In our boxing gym there's not much that annoys me. People treat me well, apart from the towel incident but that's ages ago. There are about 50 or 60 people but only 7 or 8 of them compete, so we get top treatment from everyone :D

I just think it's hilarious when you see a solid 6ft+ bloke sound something like a maria sharapova on every punch. I've heard some classic grunts before. :rofl
Then you see some other blokes come in and hit the bag like they're fending off a rapist or something.

*People who hit the double-end bag as if it's a speedbag....
* Mma douche talking trash about boxing, yet he's in a boxing gym...
* Hearing of people's "street fighting record."
Oh there's one thing that annoys me in the boxing gym, people who talk during the training. It's fine if you're discussing technique with someone, but you don't discuss the fucking weather when people are seriously working out. Our trainer usually gives them a slap on the back of the head, and it ends.
It's no biggie. I'm guilty of it myself as well during the cooling down, my body relaxes and my big mouth opens. I get slapped as well sometimes :D

Sounds like the college fitness center I go to. There are no one-on-one trainers there, it's just do it yourself and there's a lot of socializing going on. The boxing gym I go to doesn't have things like this happening as its very structured, and you have to "earn" your way into the gym so to speak, along with a 65 $ USA Boxing membership.:D

What annoys me is people not trying. One time we had maybe 20-30 people and had baout 10 in the ring shadow boxing and 2 boys standing talking in the ring. I went mental telling them to try or bugger off. They started trying abit after it.
I also used to hate people who couldnt take it easy in sparring.

if u arent my trainer then don't get involved, live ur own life
i mean, if u just said "guys i need to use the ring if ur not using it do u mind if i jump in?" that would be cool.. but who are u to start shouting at them man?
:rofl Our first day back is tonight. I'm going to give someone a power wedgie.
This is what happened to me
I sparred a very good boxer, about 9 kg heavier than me. He's faster, better, everything basically. At one point he pressured me, and I was exhausted so he started to land multiple punches after each other. I pulled up the guard too high, and he took me out with a liver punch. I fell to the floor, bent over, and then he proceeded to dry hump me from behind, laughing loudly :rofl
Funny moment. We really have a nice team at the moment :D

They were taking up the room in the ring I explained that first then told them to start trying or piss off. Im not going to let some lazy cunt affect my training. I wasnt shouting just normal voice.
Also were in a boxing gym. Its a bunch of boys maybe 14-16 who come in and slack off the whole time and speak, whats the point of coming to speak. Your in the boxing gym to box or stay fit, no talk to your mates then go around saying your a boxer or for whatever reason your there.

When you're at a boxing club you're apart of a team I believe and have responsibilities like in any team sport.
Having people just laying around definitely hurts motivation. Also because bored peoples will just sit there and pick at you or just stare. Very distracting and not good for a club.
I also used to hate people who couldnt take it easy in sparring.
I wanted to write this! I hate people coming in off the street who had their arse kicked on their weekend or think they have something to prove.
You're there trying to tighten the nuts and bolts of your style and this blokes running full force at you, pushing you around. Throwing wild hayemakers. These are the types who are just looking for a fight.
No idea why my trainer would put me in with these guys, i used to think he wanted to see me KOed or something.

About the waanabe fighters i used to be in with them all the time, its normally a test to see how tough they are and willing to learn after getting battered. I hated it as tehy was bigger but when i got going i was making them miss and pissing them off and i never did see them back.

i agree with you joker and gpater..
a week or so ago, our coach told us about the old days, where the training enviroment was much tougher. It might have been a bit more serious then, as alot of thos guys were regional and national champs.
BUT nonetheless he asked for some of us to step up, encouraging us to encourage others. Whether it was done with a "come on you can do it" or "get your fucking ass in gear", wasnt really the point- The point is to create a mentality in training, where you know if you slack of, then someone is going to adress it.
its still in its starting out fase, but i like it..
not only does it adress the training mentality, in the long run t,he team feeling is gonna grow as well.

So one day I nicked some 16oz from the gym and said to my mates that if they wanted to do it we could do some boxing in my mates back garden.... That ended the whole boxing 'thing'!!
I used to love when you'd get strangers coming into the gym giving it large.... I was training one afternoon at Kirkham ABC and we had these three chavs come in- all bigger then me. They were walking round like they were johnny '15' men... I thought 'Fuck!!' bet these lads are tough... anyway they hit the bags and pads, usual street technique (otherwise know as 'couldn't fight their way out the bag syndrome)... one of them asks to spar with me. I thouroughly enjoyed the next 40 mins or so as I systematically battered everyone of mates, dropping all of them with various body shots or left hooks to there ungumshielded nashers!!! :-) Even better it was recorded, so the tapes still knocking about somewhere! :good
That ended the whole boxing 'thing'!!
I was only 14 max so I was shitting myself... He got absolutely brutally handled. They didn't come again.. :hi:
Awesome gym kirkham.

Actually I done a similar thing to you, I was sick of my mates
getting drunk and punching on with each other, so I bought
some 16 oz gloves and told them to go for their lives at each other.
It seems to have stemmed the flow, as they done it
once and realised they didnt have the fitness to even last a minute.
We've all seen bodybuilders show up in the boxing gym, thinking they're shit hot, and thinking they'll woop anybody's ass. Only to receive the beating of a life time by some skinny fuck who almost orbits the fat fuck. Most of the time, they never show up again.
In my gym however, one of them kept coming. He lost about 40 pounds of muscle and had his first fight last Sunday. Lost a decision, but gave it all he got. I respect the guy a lot, he sacrificed a lot to be able to really fight.

when i was boxing,i'd regularly have blokes come up saying they'd come down to the club and give me a spar.it was ok with a few pints in them but not one ever came down for that sparring session.
Same goes with me .
Had blokes at work always say they wanted to come down but then dogged it when they could of. One of them claimed he was being trained by some international superstar dojo master and walked around with a big head. As a joke i jabbed the air next to his ear while he was off guard and he flinched squeeled like a girl in front of everyone. :rofl
Credibility = 0.
He started to get pissy and told everyone he was comng to the gym to drop me. I kept telling him to come in but the bloke just liked to talk too much,

You should have punched him in his face. Thats just stupid for no reason. Stupid for no reason cannot go unpunished. Piss in his workout bag next time you see him.

This is usually the most amusing. Big meatheads who think they can have it. Often the builders see me coming too and from the weights room to the boxing gym. (there in seperate buildings) All of a sudden one of these meathads starts jabbing the air and shadow boxing?!?! And the other starts skipping with an imaginary rope. Then they ask me "what goes on over at that boxing gym"? Natually my reply is "boxing".
The best part is when they take the first punch flush to the face, watching their eyes get three times as big really makes my day. Watching them stumble around the ring in full panic for a few more minutes is hilarious as well.
Man I'm an asshole :)

I got no problem being hit. I just hate it when you get hit square on the nose and your eyes stream. That shit pisses me off. Its not like it even hurts.

Full blown bodybuilders who drink their protein-shakes at the public bar but pretending they gained all that muscle from hard work. lmfao
No disrespect brother, but these guys still got to work hard. Drinking protein does not help you build muscle on its own.

I think hes insinuating their on steroids.
Even then, under steroids you still have to work hard, in fact harder...steroids allows you to work harder.
