Two stand out for me. Gerald Mcclellan's on the Benn night. Not only were they clueless, they didn't seem to give a shit about Gerald. One of them said 'if it wasn't for the referee we'd be drinking champagne on the flight home by now'. Real classy when your guy is fighting for his life.

Also the gangster wanabees who used to work for Riddick Bowe. They bottled fan man and pretty much started the MSG riot by attacking Golota in the ring.

Maybe I'm looking at it with rose tinted specs on but with the likes of Robinsons entourage it was like "the show had come to town" and at least most of the guys on the payroll had a nominal job title. This days its just bunch of plastics gangsters who have managed to latch onto a top boxer for a free ride.

Pretty sure I read in Dark Trade that at the weigh-in for Tyson-Bruno 2 Crocodile was doing the usual shit to Bruno and Bruno's wife told him to fuck off and gave him the wanker gesture and the Brits started singing to him "You fat bastard! You fat bastard!"

Which reminds me, earlier on in the weigh-in the Brit fans were chanting and a couple of Americans went by, it goes something like this:

American 1- "What are them Brits singing now?"
American 2- "I don't know, but it sure sounds pretty."

It turns out the Brits were chanting "Tyson is a rapist, Tyson is a rapist, na na na na." Rather them than me.:yep

First I've heard of a ruckus with Bruno. I do remember for Bruno II Team Tyson all came to the ring with the words "Hated by many. Loved by few. Respected by all." on the back of their jackets.

Probably looks naff now, but at the time, caught up in the moment, I thought it was awesome.

On 'legendary nights' it says something like (and uses footage to back it up) that the weapon both time was a radio, and it was the same guy that did it to Golota.

Bowe's entourage was horrible. They also started a riot after the Elijah Tillery bout - Tillery kicked Bowe, Bowe's manager ran into the ring and wrestled Tillery down to the mat, 20 guys entered the ring and started beating each other up, fans in the stands started to riot, people pulled out their glocks and started shooting. Just a huge mess.

Dumb question. WTF does "bottle" mean? I'm sure it's some kind of Cockney rhyming slang, but from the context in which it was used, I thought it basically meant to cower away from someone. Here, it seems to being used completely differently. In any case, it's not a term that's ever used in the US.

I remember Manny Steward actually blaming the loss against Hagler on the fact that one of Hearns' sycophants gave him a leg massage before the fight.

Probably a bit far-fetched, but I can imagine any interference with your fighter from cretins is going to piss you off.

If you bottle it, it means you lose all confidence, fold and get the hell out of there.

But it also means to literally hit comeone with a bottle, or throw a bottle at someone from point blank range.

Nothing to do with cockney rhyming slang.

Bottle means guts 'he's got no bottle' means 'he's got no guts'. 'Bottling it' means chickening out.
When the guy was talking about bottling the fan man he meant he thought they threw bottles at him/hit him with a bottle.

I went to the same college as Lee Beard in Salford, played football with him. Very decent striker actually. He was so non-descript, when I heard Hatton had a trainer called Lee Beard, and I saw a pic of him, I STILL didn't remember the guy. My mate had to spell it out to me that it was the guy we knew.

I find it hard to believe he's a) training a world class fighter and b) is a 'dickhead' because he was OK when I knew him, not a dickhead at all.

Was a while back to be fair.

An ego can grow pretty quickly though..... look at Ricky Hatton himself.

Around the Castillo fight he was a sound guy - funny, down to earth, the man of the people literally, and he's steadily become more arrogant to the point of being a delusional, irratating.... arsehole basically.

I don't buy Betty's theory that he was always an arse and he has been 'exposed' (:-() but he has changed a lot IMO.
