If Pavlik vs Taylor does not happen most likely Pavlik will fight Khoren Gevor or Giovanni Lorenzo for the Vacant WBC title after Taylor is stripped for not fighting Pavlik.:bart

Winky shuts the fuck out that cunt Tito, & Taylor vs Winky went to a draw. So you tell me what Taylor will do to a Tito that hasn't fought in years.

It's official then.... he's ducking Pavlik. How come he didn't try to price himself out against Ouma or Spinks? Taylor can't truly believe that this is a big money fight. Only boxing fans who constantly follow the sport know who Pavlik is.. it's not like a bunch of casual fans are going to tune into the fight knowing who the fuck he is.

Good for HBO, Taylor doesn't deserve the 5 million. They know Pavlik doesn't have a huge fan base yet and that also fans have lost respect for Taylor. I don't think this fight would generate enough money to be able to pay Taylor that much.

Pavlik will catch up with Taylor someday, at some weight. And when he does, boy, look out.
After Kelly destroys whoever those guys you mentioned are, everyone will diss Pavlik for not beating the man.

Well if HBO doesnt want to pay Taylor the 5 mill then he should pull out because that is what they offered him to fight Pavlik. And according to HBO the fight is a go sept 29.

I don't believe HBO won't pay him $5 Mil for that fight. It is HBO who's hot on putting it up after all.

It dont matter what he made in his past few fights, because HBO offered him the 5 mill, so if they pull the offer then how is he a ducker???

If Pavlik was a Welterweight or JR. Middle , Taylor would like to fight him.
Taylor fights good fighters, but smaller fighters. Taylor has never really faced a hard punching middlweight. Aside from Hopkins , but neither threw or landed many punches in either fight. I do reacall Hopkins having Taylor in trouble in the end of the first fight, when he finally started throwing punches.
Settle down you uppity fucks until it's official, IF.

Hey he should get what HBO promised him, but it doesn't sound like that 5 mil was intended entirely for him. If they're offering him anything more than his last fight and he don't take it, then you can't deny it...he's a fucking pussy.
I'm still trying to find the article in question.

You've smoked out exactly the reason why Taylor may be hedging his bets about facing Pavlik - he, or his people, know exactly what's gonna happen when he faces a legitimate MW who can crack. :nod

I'm calling BS on this news. I'm still seeing articles recent as the last 24 hours talking about the impending Taylor-Pavlik fight. On top of that, Taylor really needs Pavlik. Analysts will tear him apart if he ducks Pavlik. No matter what happens in the meetings or at HBO I have a feeling this will happen.
And I damn well hope it does too. Tpuz said it though: If Taylor doesn't fight Pavlik, Taylor sucks.

Interesting. Well, if HBO truly did lower its offer by that much (4.5 to 2.5), then you can understand how Taylor might balk at the change. I still expect the fight to happen, but Taylor and HBO are probably going to need to air some differences first.
If Taylor takes less money to fight someone else or more money for a bullshit fight against a Trinidad or Jones, then I'll be talking shit on him just like everyone else. He needs to fight Pavlik.

It sucks for Taylor, if they are indeed pulling back on their initial offer, but who else is he going to fight? The article mentions Tito possibly, but now there are reports that he is going to fight RJJ, so who else could Taylor possibly fight?

Taylor pulled the same trick with Calzaghe,ie pricing himself out of the fight because he didn't really fancy it. Pavlik looks pretty good to me and probably looks pretty good to Taylor too, hence unrealistic demands again

It's the oldest(and most transparent) trick in the book. Ask for more money than you know the fight is worth when you don't fancy it.Frank ****** travelled to America to try and make a Calzaghe/Taylor fight but Taylor wanted 10million dollars!!!! Exactly. Who has Taylor ducked exactly? He tries to take on the best competition out there and it's still not good enough. Jermain Taylor isn't ducking Pavlik. He just doesn't want to get punked out of the money that was offered to him.

Indeed , Taylor is the best Welterwight/ Jr Middleweight in the world easily.
Winky Wright, Cory Spinks Kassim Ouma, , Raul Marquez , Grady Brewer , Freddy Cuavas, Alex Bunema that is an impressive list. Even Daniel Edouard ,a small MW moved down to 154 now.
Taylor almost fought /wanted to fight a MW Sergio Mora (19 W 4 Ko's) easily the weakst punching prospect in the MW division. Taylor has 3 title defenses all against smaller ,weak punchers but skilled fighters. What is the deal with Taylor fighting so many smaller fighters that cannot punch since Taylor moved in up comp as a prospect??? Taylor has never really faced a puncher to be honest, the best puncher would be Hopkins who is more of a boxer.

Pavlik will get his shot sooner or later, HBO is trying to make a name still for Taylor so a fight with Trinidad might serve them better, but as far as Taylors legacy goes if he does not fight Pavlik he would have lost everything he gained by beating Hopkins.
either way a fight with Trinidad might not be so bad, we might actually see Taylors ass knocked the fuck out especially with the way he has looked in recent fights.

This is exactly what is wrong with boxing, there is a young undefeated chapion in his prime and a young undefeated knockout artist also in his prime is stepping up and challange him, a perfect match. Instead these young champions are fighting old legends past their prime and those great matchups between two undefeated prime fighters are not materializing.

This is the way HBO Stars do business ask Floyd
Nah, Pavlik is ducking Taylor. He can´t accept the fact that after beating weak and shitless Miranda he will have to face a killer like Taylor. I believe Pavlik will move all the way to light welterweight by the end of next year just to duck Taylor.
