Britain has owned the WBO Super Middle crown. Froch is busy in Super 6, but Paul Smith or Brian Magee could take him.
Degale, Groves & Jeffries could take him within 12 months, if he is still around

He really is holding onto the belt until he gets a decent offer to fight a decent fighter to pass it on.

it will be interesting to see any of the up-and-coming british supermiddleweights can carry on the tradition of dominance in this division.

I think he may improve every fight from now on. He will have the beating of all those you mention. Miranda will be a tough fight. He could make a load of WBO defences if he gets past Edison.

The WBO has never been a legit world championship.

I'm bladdered, let me tell you something now, as far as the 'ins & outs' of boxing goes, Tony Bellew knows 200% more than me, and when I was sober, I saw him say to the trainer that was dissing him 'and don't even let me get started on Geard'. So there's obviously been bad blood.
IN MY OPINION, if my mate wasn't caught up in the Liverpool scally culture, he beats Steiglitz EASY, he beats Smith, he beats Dodson & Quigley (even though I love both lads). Arrrrgh I'm rambling. Let's do drugs.
I'll carry on rambling for 2 seconds. for the past few months I've been chatting to Gary Thornhill, and he told me 2 things, firstly, that he got offered Barrera & his management turned it down, even though he just wanted to share a ring with him, whether it be for 2 rounds or 20 seconds. This was after he stopped Wenton I think.
He also said to me secondly: "If your mate wasn't such a lazy cunt, he'd stop them all domestically".
As far as I can see, not ONE spelling mistake. Truly a successful evening.
Who is your mate???
Is he / was he pro?????

The Germans are like Frank ******. They specialise in getting completely average fighters with respectable looking records to act as cannon fodder for their main fighters.

Seen Geard a few times early in his career. He was a real class act and then started to look sloppy and started losing to guys who were no way near his level. Very disapointing career.

Yer i agree Geard was class act but seemed to lose focus and become disillusioned with boxing??
I think if he got his act together and got in a good mental state he could still do something with his career.
We'll have to wait til HitmeHarder comes down from wherever he is and see if it was Geard he was talkin about ha ha ha

Yeah it was mate, sorry about those ramblings, I'm totally fucking embarrassed.
Both posts have hit the nail on the head, but the lad has STILL only lost to Geale (in Oz & on short notice), Pirog & Macklin, who are no pushovers by any means. He was by no means embarrassed either, apart from possibly Geale, although that was a paycheck & a chance to fight for a 'World Title' so was impossible to turn down.
Love the lad though, haven't saw him for a couple of months actually, had some fucking crazy nights with him (probably part of the problem!). I remember a few years back I accidentally stole his bird in a party back at my flat just through not being able to see straight, he walked in on us, and rather than remove my jaw, went in my spare room, put every weight I had on the bar (about 110k I think) and started benching to relieve his frustrations. What a guy
I have to stop blowing his trumpet on here though when I'm wrecked, but it is a big shame, the talent the lad's got.

Haha just a little (and the rest) for a change, and when I said 'his bird' I don't mean his girlfriend, it was just a random party back at mine with a load of random birds.
To be fair she was the pick of the bunch by a mile, and he'd been doing groundwork for fuck knows how long, I was just grabbing out for things left right & centre and ended up grabbing on to her in the kitchen, and that was that. I don't think he went short eventually like.

No idea mate, he chopped & changed quite a bit & got shit in the press for it, got slated pretty badly in the Liverpool Echo after the Macklin fight too which surprised me slightly. Not sure how he's feeling at the moment, last time I spoke to him he wasn't training & wasn't clear about his future. Like I said (or attempted to say) though in my drunken ramble, I think things have gone on behind the scenes that I don't know about that may have hampered his progress.
And as for that last bit, I've said it umpteen times mate! There's obviously more to it. There always is when you're trying to come up in Liverpool the hard way, too many shady characters.
