This was already done yesterday and Jones got the unanimous vote..
What a crazy ass thought... Of course Jones wins.
No doubt. Superman wins via KO.

Pavlik wouldn't even get a hand on Jones let alone win. The difference in reflexes and hand speed would've been ridiculous. Jones would've seen every punch coming a mile away.
Thoughts? :yep
You really are just pissed about Pavlik beating the shit out of Miranda, arent you? :yep

Pavlik would be losing the rounds, but one good shot, and Jones is out for about a 50 count :D

Tsss- I say a prime Montell Griffon beats Pavlik let alone Roy. NOBODY beats prime roy at in the 60#s

Roy would take him out in a couple of rounds! Look what Taylor did to Pavlik and he isn't nearly as fast or powerful as roy at 160.

Jones would stop Pavlik

Jones would win by murder. JT hurt Pavlik bad in the 2nd and Jones jr's power at 160-168 is probably top 5 or so ever. Roy at that weight in his prime is MUCH faster, More power, better reflexes, better umm everything than Pavlik. Jones at 160-168 = god with gloves hehe

If Jones had fought Pavlik none of us would have heard of him. He just would have been one of those guys Jones murdered, winning every round without really getting hit very much.
If he'd been about in the Hopkins/Toney era, you guys think he would have been able to keep that company?
The guy has ONE great win over a suspect champ who was weight-dropping and appeared to run out of steam.
He needs three years of wins and some serious intangibles before it's sensible to compare him to ATG legends like Jones.

And it's the second time i've said it in two days in identical threads...these Pavlik guys just need to calm down. I hope he does well, i like the guy and he comes to fight, but it's been a bit excessive in here today and yeserday.

yea he has a ton of work to do to be mentioned in the same breath as a Jones, Hopkins or Toney. Pavlik is gonna have to move to 168 or eventually 175 to get the big fights that he's gonna need we'll see if that happens or not. I also even though i was pro Taylor enjoy watchin Pavlik

A Prime (or even anywhere close to prime) RJJ schools him. Wide UD, possibly late stoppage.

is this a joke or something? Roy Jones at 160 had tremendous power and his chin was grade A, he'd have knocked Pavlik out inside 4 rounds due to his sloppy open plodding style. I like Pavlik as he's a bit of a throw back fighter, easy to watch and a nice lad, but come on, he's already showed massive flaws, just the talent pool in the middleweight division isn't there to exploit it... unless Jermain Taylor suddenly grows a brain over night.

Pavlik would not last 3 rounds against Jones. Period.

Pavlik KO2, too much power and too good a chin. Taller so would jab Roy's face off, then KO him.
This is what you wanted to hear, right?

Are you kidding me? Prime RJJ wouldn't even have been touched by a much slower Pavlik let alone get KOed. Please man. Jones would've seen Pavliks haymakers coming a mile away. Jones would've countered him all day long and just accumulate round after round. And possibly that accumulation might lead to a late stoppage.

Pretty good so far. Wife and I are playing it together, along with Gears of War. Balance that with my Madden and NCAA 08 time, and I gotta go buy NBA 2k8 later today, lots of gaming going in between school and posting here. I also have fighters fighting every night in the WEBL....never a dull moment lol.

Nah, I don't think Pavlik could KO Roy with a single punch at that stage of his carrer.

Jones will just use his left hand for this fight and still win the fight.

Primed jones could beat 9.5 out of 10 all time greats any day of the week. Jones was way too unorthodox a fighter, No one in the history of boxing had a combination of athleticism and speed like rjj, not even hamed or pbf. If you had a combination of at least 4 fighters you would have a primed roy jones jr.
Meldrick taylor hand speed.
Pernell whitaker Defense.
Sugar ray leonard combinations.
Mohammed Ali Confidence.
Just to name a few.

Even if I'm not really a Roy Jones fan, I can't deny the fact that in his prime he was almost untouchable with very good pop, an amazing range of combinations and his reflexes and handspeed were insane. Jones by KO.

Prime for prime at 160 - Jones annihilates Pavlik by TKO6 for all the reasons already stated.
How about now at 170lbs? I pick Pavlik to do a Glenn Johnson on Jones and stop him around round 9-10. This is the debate we should be having and this fight could actually happen if Jones beats Trinidad in January.

Roy Ko's Pavlik well inside 5. Pavlik is good but he isn't a Demigod.

And I dont agree with that either, I think RJ outboxes him quite frankly, or possibly KO's him
