"Hatton became the IBO Light Welterweight champion in the process of destroying Castillo, who was left to nurse two broken ribs, and Ricky extended his amazing undefeated record to 43 fights."

He must of broken his ribs from getting clinched so tight!

We all know that the body shot wasn't that bad and Castillo took a dive and/or is a shot fighter!

He's taking the piss , not surprised really . Infact I expected to hear Castillo would have something wrong with his ribs(fracture/break whatever) .

doubtfull that Castill broke any ribs from that punch, my guess is its easier for him to say that then to just kinda admitt that he QUIT.

ya, but I think you also have to wonder what some other punchers might have scored. Afterall it doesn't surprise me that a pro boxer can punch way harder than the average joe. I'd like to see any other fighter with a known big punch and see how they would fair in comparison. Still that is a hell of a whallop.

A liver shot is extremely painful, not to mention broken ribs. I have had broken ribs, nose, foot, toes, etc., but broken ribs hurt much worse.

Hatton also broke a rib of one of his sparring partners in training. Must have been a hell of a sparring session.

wonder how many ribs were broken with the left to the body on these clips

I got a bruised rib and could barely even breath..... i felt like i was going to die
Nevermind an actual broken one, it must be agony.

He looked sick when he took a knee. That was a smart move but you can't fight with a broken rib - it effects the way you move and if he got hit again he could easily puncture something internally.

Have respect for Floyd Mayweather as he fought with broken ribs against Castillo

yup.....just watched the fight again. definitely can hear a "thud" from that shot. that was no dive.

Thats how you really react when you get stopped by a body shot.

Now contrast that to what DLH did againt Hopkins.

Bad enough to take a body shot like that without it breaking anything.
With broken ribs as well...no wonder Castillo took so long to regain his footing. Could've been digging into a lung or something.

I thought it was a dive at first but when Castillo goes down he kind of loses balance which makes me think he was in real pain..No dive!!

Can't wait to see him do that to PBF on the ropes

Corrales obviously was the one who broke the ribs. Hatton didn't hurt Castillo at all; it was ALL Corrales. It was, perhaps, the longest delayed knockout of all time (almost two years).

And, of course, a PRIME Castillo could never have his ribs broken.

STFU!!!!!!!!!!

2 broken ribs from clinching?? You're a fucking RETARD:good
JLC isnt the kind of fighter that takes dives and many fighters have lost on liver and body shots.

Welcome to boxing:good

He didn't fucking quit man! Have you ever ate a liver shot! It seriously paralizes you!!! how could you EVER question Castillo's heart after the wars he had in the ring? You're ignorant...That is just it. If it was a liver shot then rubs were not involved, It was a rib shot then it wasnt a liever shot. That is unless Hatton has 12 to 18 inch wide fists. :-(

that was as real as it gets as far as body punches go. . . anyone trying to say otherwise is nothing more than a damn fool.

Hatton's body shot was wicked awesome. It was similar to that part in the first Predator movie when a big piece of tree slammed into that dude's ribs.
