I'm not saying that the fight isn't going to happen, but remember who the quotes in the article are coming from

I know its only ****** but it still easily beats "random hater off the Internet" which was yesterdays source of (and I use the term loosely) information.

Khan can outbox Maidana in this one, he's a bit wild and uncultured. Maidana's best shot is to rush Khan and get right in his face from the get go. If he can take Khan's shots for long enough he might be able to break him.

The reason this fight goes to purse bids is obvious. Khan's people make huge demand on ******. ****** says no ... let the market decide what this fight is worth. Could be an eye opener for Khan. And a reality check.
As for leaving ******, that would be insane. His matches, Prescott excepted, have been masterful, and ****** didn't make that one.
As Frank told Sky ... "What will be will be. But let's hope people don't suffer amnesia."

We all remember Prescott, and the one big flaw - an inability to hold a shot - will always be there,

maidana will rip him up

Glad he took it if he turned this down i would have doubts of him facing a puncher any time soon. Besides the Punching power i think Maidana is very well suited to Khans style and a Roach game plan.

Watched the Ortiz fight again lastnight.

I'm going with Khan stopping Maidana around the 5th or 6th, Maidana will protest the stoppage but would've been dropped a few times.

Thats my prediction

People are forgetting just how great Khan is and that Maidana has beaten no one and is firmly a safe opponent coming off a win against an hype job.

Nobody is saying Khan isnt great, he just hasnt got a great chin and if Maidana lands he will knock him out.

Well to be honest we still dont know if Khan's chin/taking a punch has improved since he's been with Roach, the Kotelnik and obviosuly Salita fights didn't really give much of an idea, but I do believe Khan can get in and out without Maidana landing much.

Maidana is shite. Ortiz had him in all sorts of trouble and is nowhere near as good as Khan. Ortiz got sloppy and was punished. Khan will shut him out completely and stop him

That piece replicates ******'s interview with Sky Sports - it doesn't actually say Khan's taking the fight, just that it's going to purse bids.

Still, I think Khan will take the fight.

Khan needs to work on footwork, and NOT trading shots. Box all night long.

Sounds good to me , Maidana is strong but he's too wild for someone as accurate and fast handed as Khan

So long as he keeps his head on he'll eat this kid up.

Im so happy he's taking this fight I want a champ to be proud of.

Haye , Khan and Froch out there takin on the world , gotta love it

Unless I'm mistaken a fair few of your posts are wind ups (not as much as China Hand Joe)

However this is pretty accurate summary, intentional or not

Ortiz bottled it and even Kotelnik edged Maidana out, controversial scoring or not

Khan should have enough savvy and skill to win this

Freddie roach cant stop him from beng chinny

If I remember correctly, he was working on a "chin improvement programme" at one stage. It basically consisted of repeatedly grinding your jaw against the ground to "deaden the nerves" and make it less sensitive. No joke.

I read Roach says they might be vacating because Maidanas high risk low reward but I read on ******'s website today that purse bids have been called for the 18th of January in Panama.

because the nerves in your chin have anything to do with getting knocked out
