If the guy I thought was him is actually Stephen A., he's on the left side of the main camera shot of the broadcast. I thought I saw him in that position when Pavlik was going for the KO.

Stephen A. Smith? Man that guy knows as much about boxing as my left nut. Fuck that loudmouth! I don't care if he does support Pavlik, I wish he would shut the fuck up! Though I feel it would take an atomic bomb dropped into his big ass mouth to do it, and even then who knows if that'll shut him up.

El Rey, I'm with you as far as not liking Stephen A. Smith, but he has an audience, and if he's talking positively about boxing, I think that is a good thing.

The fact that he talks boxing and brings it to people who might not otherwise hear about it I like. Still, he's very unknowledgeable on the sport and he feeds casual boxing fans a lot of false information and that bothers me.

I can definitely see your point and I agree. He's one of those guys who pays little attention to the sport and then tries to talk like an expert to people who don't know better. It's definitely a trade off, but at least he's not like those idiots who only talk about boxing when they are calling for the sport to be banned.

Steven A Smith is the only ESPN regular aside from Kenny(on FNF fights)who keeps Boxing at least alive on ESPN.Boxing gets no love from the #1 Sports channel.

At least he tries to keep the Sport alive through his own appreciatin of it.When he had his telvised show a while he did some of the best Boxing interviews i have seen.

Aint shit wrong with Stephen A Smith. He is a pure sports fan. He really loves the sports and the games he talks about. He knows his shit about basketball mainly. But you cant be an expert in all sports. He knows enough about boxing to speak on it. Unlike other assholes on ESB. At least he got an audience and gets all the big stars on his show. You dont get respect like that being a Max Kellerman, who is Don Knotts son.

I thought Max Kellerman was the black Max Kellerman.

He has a touch of the "J-Wigger". That's Jewish "wigger". Wigger is a White...well you get the point.

But he's not as much of one as his late brother. Spoiled, upper middle class Jewish kids trying to get a touch of the street.

Thats cold. At least Max and his dead brother tried to help us black people out. It obvious Max was down for the hip hop and lived in Jones jock strap but its better than hearing some redneck sportscaster. James Butler or whatever his name was is a fcked punk for doing what he did to Max's brother. I think his was naive.

I wouldn't say Stephen Smith is clueless about boxing. He writes for a Philly newspaper and has written about Hopkins fairly extensively. I've also seen him write a number of other boxing articles for his newspaper, as well as interview quite a few boxers on his now defunct talk show. As far as mainstream writers/sportscasters go, he is quite knowledgeable and keen on boxing.
