I do not see how anyone can including Winky Wright on any modern p4p. I let a person argue for a historic list, but not a current.
His last convincing fights were 2004/2005.
Since late 1999, he knocked out one person. All fights (except for DQ versus McKart) went 12 rounds.
Recently, looked rough against Soliman (late 2005), draw with Taylor, and lost to Hopkins. He is now flat-footed and fading.
I appreciate his skill and his resume, but he no longer deserves to remain on anyone's p4p list.

i agree, he hasn't done shit since beating mosley and trinidad a few years ago.

Because hes beat top ten p4p guys, like Mosley, Trinidad, and drew with Taylor a fight which many people thought he won (including myself). He was undisputed at 154lbs. Hes beat nothing but solid contenders for years now. He lost to Hopkins but the scores were wayyy outta proportion and it was at lightheavy. He more than anyone deserves to be on there specially considering the fact that people had neglected him for years.

He's outside of my top 10 right now as well, but you could make a case to have him in it.
I don't think he should be on a top 10 pound for pound list either. His last significant win was against Mosley at 154. Yeah, the Tito win was a good one for prestige, but Tito was coming out of retirement and wasn't on any p4p list at the time. Keeping Wright on a p4p list based on that win is just as crazy as putting RJ on the list after he knocks Tito out:!: . Anyway, Winky is on the outskirts of my top 10 p4p list right now.

How many people one the top ten have a guy like mosley on their resume... I mean Bernand has Winky, Winky has Mosley, Pavlik has Taylor & Miranda, Mayweather has an unimpressive dubya over DLH, fact is wins speak louded than words and hes beat pretty good names. So he deserves to be on there.

Do you see there is a bit of a cycle there that results in a few too many fighter in American circles being listed?

I think he deserves to b on there, He lost a fight at 170 to bernard hopkins, which was way out of winks weight class. Put him on a list with anyone 160 and lower, and he damn near smashes they asses

If Winky goes back to 160, then he is still a Top 10 p4p fighter.
that makes no sense, so are you saying if shane mosley goes back down to lightweight he is also top 10 p4p?

Shane Mosley can't make 135 no more, but Winky just fought at 160 less than a year ago.
so how does moving back down there get him into the top 10 p4p list?

I still believe he can beat the top guys at 160. He hasn't lost to anyone at 160 and was robbed against Jermain Taylor.
well until he beats somone worth mentioning he aint getting back into my p4p ranking, he is still high off his win against mosley and trinidad which was like 20 years ago.

Have to disagree with you on this one. Winky beat Taylor, but Taylor has all "decisions" pre-arranged for him. He can only lose by KO or TKO, so figure a draw with Taylor is really a win. Besides, I saw the fight live and watched it several times on tape. Taylor lost the fight. The fight with BHop was badly planned for Winky or else he didn't follow his fight plan. He tried to overwhelm Hopkins which is a bad idea unless you're a fast heavyweight. When he followed his corners' instructions, he did well. He seemed to allow BHop to get to him emotionally instead of remaining cool and calm in the ring. A bad idea, again. As a junior middleweight, Wright is and was invincible. As a middleweight he loses some footspeed and handspeed. He's still excellent but not as dominant in that division. He should stay out of the Super Middles and Light-Heavies. Winky is a man who just has to know his limitations, as Clint Eastwood once said. All that aside, however, he is in the p4p ratings in my opinion.:think

I have Winky at #7 on my list. He's still a P4P talent. He beat Taylor and lost a close fight with Hopkins in a weight class he had no business at.

Robbery is used way too much on this forum. He has a DRAW with Taylor that some think he won and SOME think he lost. It was a close fight. PERIOD.
