Mosley is a bit old and is past his prime by at least 5 years (just like Kostya and Castillo).

okay, i know i picked castillo over hatton, and and was pretty harsh on him for the urango performance, and scored a win for collazo...BUT...i don't hate the guy and recognize that he's world class. that said, and even as a self-avowed mosley nuthugger, in all seriousness and objectivity, i cannot fathom this fight a) happening, b) going past the mid rounds if it does, c) being good for ricky's health however long it lasts.

We wont see this fight - if we did, Hatton is not a 147er, so like jonesjrp4p1 said, Mosley by late TKO or wide UD

any version of either at any weight...same outcome. not even in question.
Would be one TOUGH fight for Hatton,as Mosley's handspeed would cause massive problems for Hatton.
Both are very fine body-punchers,although Hatton would have the advantage on the inside - But could Hatton get on the inside?
Shouldn't you be in the lounge???? Anyway, yes a tough fight for both, I actually think that Hatton could get Mosley. Mosley doesn't have a great jab, and was letting a slow and methodical Vargas get inside on him in the first fight. Ricky is very tenacious and I believe could cause a lot of problems for Shane.

It would be great. Team Hatton should also love it to vindicate the Collazo fiasco

I dont think Mosley is any more past his prime than De La Hoya.
Oscar was hardly convincing against Sturm, or Hopkins getting knocked out in Castillo fashion in the latter. Oscar did a real good job against Mayorga, took care of business.
Oscar is 2-3 in his last 5 fights. But also many thought Oscar lost to Sturm, so he very could be 1-4 in his last 5. Obvisoulsy Oscar has been fighting tremendous opposition ,but he has been losing the fights.

shane mosley no question to fast for ricky hatton
wtf everyone suddenly riding ricky after the castillo fight he really didn't look that impressive against a very slow very old castillo
Were talking Shane Mosely here. The guy who has extreme handspeed, as strong as Hatto and hates being landed on without returning a punch. I don't think Shane Mosely is a guy who can be beaten by trading with him, but he can be beaten with a counter style..
When has someone out FOUGHT Mosely?
He's been countered to death by Wright, and beaten from range by Forrest.

if Hatton struggled that much against Collazo, Mosley will mop Hatton all over the ring at 147.

Kosta was the champ, so piss-weak argument there already...also, it seems to me you think Hatton will beat Mosley and you're 'crying it in' (as they say here) before the fight's begun. :good

I'd say Mosley is "post-prime", but far from being a shot fighter. A post-prime Mosley is still a top fighter. I'm one of the people who thinks Hatton's win against Castillo, while impressive, is being blown completely out of proportion. If he fought and beat Mosley, anyone who didn't give him credit for beating a live Hall of Famer would be on crack.
Mosley can't put the 5-6 punch lighting combinations together any more, but he can still put together some pretty fast 3-4 punch combos.

It won't happen. De La Hoya wants this fight and that means it WILL happen. Mosley works for him and isn't going to get first crack at Hatton. Next May the fight between Hatton and DLH is going to take place at 154 lbs. Hatton better start lifting weights.

I think Hatton gets beat here, convincingly.
Mosley is too good all round. He can bang if he needs to bang. He can work on the outside with ridiculous handspeed if he needs to. He's tooooo big for Ricky and has too much experience and enough left in the tank to beat him.
As much as I am a fan of Ricky's this is the fight I dont want to see, I would much rather see PBF, Cotto or Magic Man (to see his mouth filled with the rubbish he's been spouting).

When has someone out FOUGHT Mosely?
Wright did. He stood infront of Mosley all night, exchanged punch-for-punch with him and out-muscled him in close and kept him backing up al night with the jab.

Can't see it, no matter how much money Oscar offers Hatton ain't dumb enough to jump up that far just to take a beating.

Hatton is not in the same league as Mayweather, Mosley or Delahya.
Has only a ghost of a chance against any of them.
He is comparable, skillwise, to Cotto but not as strong and would probably lose. Ditto for Margarito and Williams.
I feel that even Collazo was better (and outpointed him) and would probably beat him in a rematch.
At 140, he can rule for a while as there is no-one there that he would not have a good chance with.
He has Junior Whitter and Vivian Harris, not super lucrative, dollarwise, but very winnable.
He has some choices to make.
