My knowledge of modern boxing is passable I suppose but I'm far more clueless when it comes to active trainers today.
How do you rate these guys, whats their style, strengths and what type of fighters do they produce. Whats your own prefference-Manny Steward or the unorthadox Brendan Ingle?
One last question- Is Enzo Calzaghe any good? For years he was derided as a one trick pony (a pony by the name of Joe) but lately he seems to be having more success. Cheers:good

Freddie Roach to me is the best trainer out there in boxing right now.

Probably because of that and the fact that he teaches different styles to different fighters.

Enzo is well overrated. His only made his name becase of his son Jo. He produces good domestic operators but imo is no way close to Brendan Ingle or Wincobank.

An overrated trainer heavily Improved Enzo Mac. Not as good obviously but he looked like a Cruiser Lennox Lewis.
The Ingles are good but there style only works for few like Witter, Nelson, Naz and Graham.
Enzo started training with no boxing experiance at all and only watched Leonard tapes so he's pretty Impressive. He doesn't have his fighters fight the same style like the Ingles either.

Amateur or pro? There are some great trainers in Russia and the rest of eastern Europe. Of the current ones, I like Belov, the guy who trains Povetkin, and Wolf, who produced very different amateurs in Makarenko and Maletin (trainer of the Khanto-Mansiysk autonomous region), and is training Balakshin right now.
