Who is it? Brock Lesnar, a roided Mark Coleman, a roided Mark Kerr? Any other suggestions?

Btw I don't consider Mariusz a real MMA fighter yet, but he would be the obvious choice.

Are we talking P4P? If we are then GSP and Matt Hughes have to be up there.

On an absolute scale, it's probably between Bob Sapp and Hong Man Choi. They are both pretty weak on a technical level, so they probably don't get the most out of their strength. Brock Lesnar is probably almost as strong as those two, but has half-decent technique, so he'll probably seem stronger in actual combat.

I don't really follow the lower weight classes that intensely, but p4p I'd put Kevin Randleman, Rampage Jackson and I guess Fedor up there. Randleman and Jackson have made some insane slams and suplexes thoughout the years, and fedor seems to be the only one who hasn't realized that he's actually a rather smallish HW, as he continues to push and shove much larger opponents around the ring, as if they were the ones with a 30+ lbs disadvantage.

No, I was thinking of absolute terms. And then there is always the question of how you measure it. I suggest benchpress and deadlift combined divided by two.

Easy, it's Mariusz Pudzianowski - Multiple time World's Strongest man winner.

GSP is crazy strong. Watch his training videos. He does plyometrics and circuits with heavy weights. he'll do chin ups with 90 pound dumbells hanging off him. he'll do chest press with 110 pounds. after these exercises he'll do a plyometric exercise.

I THINK Jimmy Ambriz has the largest squat, bench and deadlift totals for any MMA fighter. The lifts were actually done in competition, under the standards of one of the major powerlifting governing organizations.

My two cents; When strength is considered, one must also factor in grappling strength. So when factoring both criteria,. It is my STRONG opinion that Mark Coleman is the correct answer.

If you limit it to fairly high level guys who are full time MMA fighters I would think maybe Lesnar.

Randleman at his biggest was a freak.

mariusz and it isn't debatable. he's proven himself as the strongest man in the world a few times, the transition into being the strongest fighter in the world is pretty obvious.

p4p it's Yushin Okami in my opinion. Not a flashy fighter but he's crazy strong.

and he's never been done for juicing up like a lot of the American fighters.

for being a small heavyweight and being old as he is, Randy Couture has amazing strength. being able to keep 280+ pound Lesnar up against the cage for almost two rounds is impressive considering Couture looked like a middleweight in comparison. The mans tendon strength must be phenomenal.

Careerwise id probably go with Kerr. That guy was a chiselled and solid 260lbs in his prime and had some serious strength. I remember him submitting some guy in PRIDE with a neck crank. I thought he was going to tear the dudes head off!

Randleman at his biggest was a freak.Randleman had awesome genetics. That guy was a beat when he wrestled at Ohio state at 170+ lbs. When he went up to heavy in Vale Tudo and the early UFC days he may as well have been a pro bodybuilder.

Hard to argue against the World Strongest Man.
