View Full Version : Is anyone buying the PPV or going live to the Mundine Fight?
Just out of curiosity? I wouldn't mind watching it at the local, but I don't think I would pay my hard earned money for it, just to see Choc beat up some poor cabbie. On the up side though the undercard seems okay, and will most probably be full of knockouts...

I might go to the pub and watch it because I am a little interested in watching some of the undercards but I usually dont go out of my way to watch mundine fights.
I bought Choc vs Echols, Kessler and Green. And have gone to the pub to see a few others, but I usually try and borrow tapes of his fights because I dont like to behind the 8ball.
But I try not to help perpetuate the circus when he puts on rubbish like this.

I order alot of PPV's, but no not this one.
Its so not worth it. Topped off with a rather pathetic undercard.
Im off to a pub in Freo.
This is a Fox Sports Friday Night Fights style of card.:-(
With the main support being Haumono knocking some bum in 1 or 2 rounds.
If Mundine fights a reasonable opponent & a solid undercard with at least 1 or 2 decent matches, then I would definitely fork out $40 or $50.
Gotta be the worst Aussie PPV in a long time.
Mundine should have selected a solid Aussie opponent instead of this bum.

Not buying it... hell the cold miserable weather may even stop me seeing it at a pub. It'll be on late with a boring undercard and the only thing that could make it slightly interesting is if Mundine lost, in which case i'd be happy not to see it anyways, especially to this guy. Will see how I go...
Has anyone seen the SMH today? Online there's no image, but Nievas is fucking huge! I think perhaps he was picked because of this. If Mundine can show tonight that he can get inside a big fighter (albeit an untalented one) and keep on the pressure and make some good inside fighting then I'll have seen something I've not seen him do yet.

well for those who cant be rooted to get the ppv or go to the pub i will most likely be able to post the entire card as a dvd file on the worldboxingarchive site that we all so dearly love! it will be a big file - maybe 3.5gb but with fast internet should only take over night
Ill be watching it at Vegas in the Cross if anyone fancies heading down for a beer.

Well I just got foxtell on after many fucking months fighting with the rest of the owners at my villa and am having some mates over as they are paying for the beer and pizza I will pay for the fight because if I went to the pub I would end up gambling and spending more money any way.
Normally I would just go to my oldies and pay for fights there but now I have the comfort of doing it at home so why not free beer free feed and hopefully me missus will give me a go afterwards.

I just want it to be over so we can hear who's up next and inject some more life back in to the forum. We're stretching now and need an injection of interesting topics!
That being said, it's a little unfortunate that the only boxer to consistently prove to be a talking point in this country is Mundine... shame Vic etc don't get as much coverage/exposure...

I am off to the fight live.....its going to be fun...85% of the crowd will go to see mundine get KO'ed....that cab driver guy looks a bit like a boxer...he is bigger than Mundine and looks in great shape...may not be the easy fight we all think...anyhow mundine to win by ko in the 6th round.
yeah i think a vic defense over here would be good - against that thai fella
If you're talking about wongjongkongsalekammanam, it'd hardly be a "defence" but rather a unification. But yeah would love to see that one in Oz - that should shoot vic up the p4p rankings too.

yeah always there.
some good cards. good to see some up & comers, or even matchups etc. generally a pretty good atmosphere.
some fighters ive like over the time... sonni, katsidis, topp, j guy, juarne dowling, butterbean!, jason larssen, nathan briggs, swifty gregory.
not all because of talent, just different aspects. eg entertainment value, potential etc.

I'M SICK and TIRED OF SEEING thread after thread after thread with Mundine in it.. Don't you guys get sick of talking about this person???:-(
Did anyone here pay for tickets? How do they even make money?
I have been to one of the Jamie Myer promotions at the Magic Millions and I had a good time.
The fights are usually pretty good with the likes of Pittman and Topp and getting to see Hoppa and some of the big heavies is good.
Hoppa is massive when you see him live. Makes you think how hard he would have been to stop flying down the wing at 100 miles an hour.
