(When asked for an opening statement to the media) "Am I supposed to have something to say?"
"Training is going good. I'm ready to go. I'm happy to fight at 170. I have been waiting for a long time to fight in this weight class. The last two fights were not my idea. This (fighting at welterweight) is not a new thing for me."
(On Jay Hieron saying that Diaz is ducking him) "I'm just fighting who they want me to fight. I can say GSP (UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre) is a p***y because he doesn't want to fight me. I'm ready to fight anybody. I didn't know there was a problem. I'll fight anywhere."
(On what he is doing to prepare for a five-round fight) "I kick the heavy bag a lot, run extra miles and do extra push-ups."
(On why he has not talked trash about Zaromskis, like he has with other opponents) "I've never had a conference call with another opponent before. I just woke up, dude. I don't know."
(Closing comments) "I'm really honored to be the main event of this show. I just woke up. I'm ready to fight."

GSP doesnt want to fight Nick Diaz...?
What?
#1 Nick Diaz would have no chance in hell of earning a WW title shot in the UFC
#2 GSP would obliterate Diaz
Oh wait.. i think i get what he was saying... in his own marble mouthed way...
That wasn't actually a slam at gsp..
Basically he is saying he wasnt offered a Heiron fight.. so why is Jay talking trash?
It's like if he talked trash about GSP not accepting a fight.. when GSP was never offered a fight with Diaz..
Or something.. I think..

I would love to see a GSP Nick Diaz fight. That's an interesting styles match up and much more intriguing than this Dan Hardy/GSP farce - with all respect to Dan Hardy is a quality fighter - just not one prepared to deal with GSP.

Is that a record for the most simultaneous responses on a thread or what?

Calm down guys. He's clearly saying that "so and so is ducking me" is a bullshit thing that anyone can say because that's what Heiron is doing to him.
I don't like Diaz either, but come on.

This is the same as that fucking rat Paulie Malignaggi continually criticizing Manny Pacquiao.
Malignaggi and Diaz are little bitches trying to get publicity. GSP would annihilate Diaz within a round.

And how by laying on him ? GSP doesnt have the kind of power to break Diaz granite chin that quickly and Diaz has Jiu-Jitsu that is arguablly better then GSPs he isnt just going to take him down, pass easily and armbar him. This hate and disrespect for Nick Diaz on this forum is just plain stupid the guy is a extremly talented fighter and one of the best 170 pounders in the world.

This is a classic example of taking quotes out of context. I hope you're not a journalist, snakerattle79!
p.s. even with that being said, the tone of this whole interview only supports what a lousy little POS Diaz is. War Zaromkis!

When you've become irrelevant, you take shots at the guy on top. It's a desperate plea for attention. No show here...move along.

Nick Diaz is far from irrelevant he was big talk in 09 after smashing Middleweights Frank Shamrock and Scott Smith. Diaz will be right back to it in a few weeks.

He is hardly irrelevant, and he was not taking shots at GSP. You are right on one account here though... There is no show.... move along. :-((

Diaz's chin seems to always depend on his being in control of what's going on and seeing everything coming. When he's been caught not expecting it, he's been hurt by MUCH smaller and less physically strong guys than GSP (see KJ Noons and Gomi for example). I can totally see GSP stopping Diaz with strikes, not because he's a better boxer than Noons or anything but because he will have Diaz guessing about kicks and punches and clinches and takedowns and could certainly catch him.
I think Diaz is a hell of a fighter and would LOVE to see him fight guys like Kampman and Fitch etc, but you're making him sound way too invincible because of beating guys that are totally vanilla in their attacks like Shamrock and Smith.

A hypothetical GSP/Diaz match to me would look like the GSP/Fitch fight with GSP using his combinations, speed, and strength to dominate the standing exchanges and keep putting Nick on his back with tough ground and pound to a decision victory. Diaz is so slow - he would always be a half step behind GSP.

The only way Diaz could come out with a victory is if he caught GSP in a sub if GSP's being overzealous during/after a takedown.
P.S. For the record, Nick Diaz is my favorite fighter.

At least people have caught on to how badly blown out of proportion that comment was. On another note, GSP ain't stopping Diaz on anything other than a cut. No way Nick's winning, but he's about as hard to finish as any fighter in the biz. I actually would love to see a fight between the two, alot moreso than any other WW against GSP.

Diaz is a tough guy, but is he really tougher than Penn? What does he do better than Penn? If GSP can throw Hughes around and can pass Penn's guard and beat him into submission, why not Diaz? Really, GSP's BJJ is pretty fucking good too and is probably better than anyone Diaz has fought. To say that it's impossible for him to stop Diaz just because he didn't stop the much bigger than stronger Fitch and Alves seems like a reach.
