a prime lightheavy lamotta vs the great joe louis. could the iron chinned lamotta soak up everything joe has and take him into deep waters and finish him off or does joe destroy the bull and does he take him off his feet?

This falls down because Lamotta was not really prime at 175lbs.

You've done this hypothetical match up before...Louis still stops LaMotta very early.

LaMotta could perhps take the shots of Robinson but Louis was something different powerwise. He would be stopped. At lhw he was past his prime and too easy to hit. This won´t go beyond 8.

Sorry, but I do n't even see this making round 3. As iron chinned as Lamotta was,at his own weight,he'd just get shelled from the first bell, and not manage to get out of the way of Louis' punches.

I think Jake could survive if he wanted to... not win though.

If Lamotta went the distance in this fight ,they would lock up Louis , and the referee.

Louis by early KO. Complete and utter mismatch. Taking punches from MW's and a few light HW's in no way qualifies taking them from the best composite puncher the HW division has ever seen. LaMotta could get seriously hurt here.

LaMotta did take Bob Satterfields punches so he wouldn't necesarily fold under Louis's fists like oragami.
Still it took a truly exceptional fighter to last the distance against a prime Louis and I don't think that LaMotta had the stylistic requisites.

With all due respect to Bob Satterfield.
Bob Satterfield is no Joe Louis.
And yes Lamotta would be stopped early not just because of Louis's power but his precision and accuracy and ensure that is an early night.
