well they've already taken out banner advertisements on that News site that's all Fighty and stuff. usually when they start investing ad dollars that means it's pretty much committed.

There should be a rule that says that you're not allowed to mainevent a PPV if you have not won a fight in the last two years.

from toprankdawtcom:
It will be the Battle of Midway when three-division world champion ERIK “El TERRIBLE” MORALES, making his Chicago debut and seeking his record fourth world title in as many weight divisions, rumbles with WBC lightweight champion and Chicago native DAVID DIAZ in the main event of “The War for Four!” Promoted byTop Rank Inc., in association with Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Promotions, “The War for Four!” world championship extravaganza will be broadcast live on Pay-Per-View, Saturday, August 4, from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, ILL.
The pay-per-view broadcast (suggested retail price is $44.95) will also feature two additional world title fights and the Chicago debut of undefeated welterweight contender Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., son of the legendary three-division world champion and Mexican icon Julio Cesar Chavez. Tickets for the fight, priced at $300, $200, $100, $50 and $35, go on sale June 13.
According to boxrec, the undercard is:
Ricardo Torres vs. Kendall Holt
JuanMa Lopez vs. Ricardo Castillo
Edgar Sosa (recent Viloria conqueror) vs. Luis Alberto Lazarte (37-7-1)
JCC 2.0 vs. ?
not a terrible card, but $45??
Thats a pretty solid undercard, but the things that are getting PVPd these days are really gettinga bit out fo hand.

i'd almost feel if they packaged it as Torres-Holt and Morales-Diaz were the co-feature it would be more legit. i'm torn...i kind of want to see these fights...but god damn, $45...

remember there are only two types of fights. FIghts on free tv, or fights coming from streams on the internet. :D

Should be on regular HBO.
 Any update on that? Is it already confirmed?
Yeah, it's official. The press conference was in Chicago on June 12th. Unfortunately, Torres/Holt was not mentioned, and I heard the possibility that they will fight on Sept 1st instead.
Really shouldn't be ppv, but that's okay since I'll be there. :D

that's my motto. i've never failed to see a stream of any fight
i've just never understood how this is a better option unless you have a completely pimp-ass monitor. which i don't - i've got a pretty decent one, and that to me is not worth giving up the crisp cable quality on the big screen.

The purse bid for Torres-Holt was actually won by a Colombian after Arum tried to low-ball it, and Kendall is bugging out that he's going to have to fight in South America for low money.
Still a chance that it could end up on this card, but probably more likely in Florida. The official undercard bouts on the Morales-Diaz card are JuanMa-Castillo, JCC Jr.-Louis Brown , Donovan George-Shay Mobley, and Michael Walker-TBA.

I believe that fight is going to take place in Mexico, but the date hasn't been confirmed that I've seen.

I dont know how much Morales has left, I wonder if he can hurt Diaz. Diaz is not a great fighter, but he seems to be able to take a beating; at this point in his career; he probably has a lot more left than Morales.

This card is on the same night as Marquez Vazquez II.
I can't believe there will be many people who will pay 45 dollars to miss Vazquez Marquez, lol.
But there will probably be enough die hard Morales fans who will buy this one.
At least it is a better PPV then Vargas Mayorga.
Till now HBO was doing pretty good. Only 3 PPV's in 6 months, all three were big fights. But the second half of the year looks like last year again.
Morales Diaz
Vargas Mayorga
JMM Barrios
All in 5 weeks time.
Pacquiao Soto will probably be PPV too.

I'm not sure that any of those have anything to do with HBO. Morales-Diaz is a Top Rank ppv.

I think Torres-Holt would make for a nice match-up, would be nice to see it make the card. Lopez-Castillo is also a good match and a big step up for Lopez. Morales-Diaz should also make for a good fight, very nice style match-up, unfortunately I see Morales getting beat. I'm not sure if I'll order this or not. If Holt-Torres is on the card than that would be 3 nice, but nothing great, type of fights. So with Torres-Holt I might get it, w/o I'd probably have to pass as than I'd be looking at 2 fights and 2 mismatches.

Nope, it's HBO PPV. At least that's what they said at the press conference.
At least it's official that Edgar Sosa will be on there now. :good
