fight is coming up and as the trend goes, sorry losers will pop up and discredit the bragging rights of the winner and the fans . so let us discuss the possible excuses..

i forgot to note that if mab pulls this one ( by a masterful boxing and not running and hugging) then i'll give whatever is due :good

......Pacquiao's corner had a powerful magenet pointed to MAB's head forcing his head to keep pounding Pacquiao's gloves...

Many people will say Barrera was at the end of the road and Pac took on another older Mexican legend instead of facing less ring-worn fighters like Soto, Guzman, and Valero. If Pac beats him, I will give him credit for the victory, just not as much as if it was a prime MAB.

I distinctly remember you Johnco and a couple of other Pacman fans admitting that MAB was old and faded but that this fight was about money so it was ok in your eyes.
So then it's not an excuse to say MAB is old. He is. Truth is a defense to the allegations you allege.

Yes he is old by PAC standards. By other fighters standards an old MAB is still p4p..who had a close fight with JMM..
For PAC an old MAB gets demolished because his standards are high. Just like he destroyed Erik while Erik got robbed against Diaz who is BTW a Champ no matter how you slice it.
And dont get started with Raheem, he did shit against Morales..PAC dismantled Erik.
I understand though PACs expectations are higher
Trust me I cant wait for PAC to fight Guzman and Soto..Ohh JMM and MAB can beat Soto or Guzman but PAC will beat them savagely

Nope. MAB is old period. His in ring age is ancient. He has been in too many wars.
And Raheems win over Morales simply clarified what many of us already knew. Morales foot movement, hand speed, accuracy and everything else had diminished. You cannot waive it away and dismiss it. I notice alot of qualifying in your post....you want us to not pay attention to Morales' loss to Raheem so he won't look old, and pay close attention to the fact that Morales fought close (he wasn't robbed, it was close, stop crying wolf, we will need robbery for a real one soon enough I am sure) to Diaz, a champion...but not pay attention to the fact that Diaz ISN'T a good champion. Not that one anyways.
Lets look at the whole picture instead shall we? Morales has lost what, 5 of 6 fights? Raheem and Diaz aren't great fighters. He is old. MAB has been past his prime for a while now, we all know that. He has fought wars and his in ring age is certainly past it. Pacman needs to fight a PRIME championship caliber opponent, just like Pacman fans are constantly claiming PBF needs to do. End of story.

If the Knicks beats the Lakers by 4 pts because the lakers are bad and the Spurs blows out the Lakers by 30. You tell me that no winning team is more dominating than the other..I think you are not giving PAC credit.
How bout if I say that JMM is a BUM because an old MAB lasted in a close fight against him and even knocked him down, will this statement be true??
The expectation for PAC is to KO MAB and any of his opponents, for others, winning a UD is just as good. Those are different standards

I have made no mention of domination or the like.
BTW, in basketball, styles can influence games and series. You cannot go by deficit. One only has to look at how the Mavs did against everyone else last season, but couldn't beat the Warriors based on styles.
Fight a prime opponent. That's all. JMM vs MAB was a good technical fight based on styles. Juarez fought MAB close too, and he is not as good as JMM. It's about styles. Pacman is being judged by ME the same way as PBF. Fight a prime fighter. Pacman fans claim PBF beating an old DLH means little....well, what's good for the goose....

Youre squeezing a dry lemon here KG theres is nothing more I can say..FYI PAC has fought prime fighters along long time ago lots of them..He could fight the likes of MAB, JMM now and it wouldnt matter.
Yes Soto and Valero and Guzman are miles ahead of MAB and ERik miles, niles. so there really is nothing PAC can do. Beat Soto, a nobody, Valero a wild slow plodder, Guzman never fought anyone.

MAB's prime was from about 94-00. Around then he changed his style because he could no longer physically sustain it.

actually, it is kind of hard to see when mab peaked. if you looked at his record, you'd see that before the pac fight he was coming off 8 straight wins which included fights against morales, hamed, tapia, and kelley. so one can make a stong point that this was the best stretch of his career. however, it could also be argued that mab's physical peak was right after he lost twice to jones and therfore needed to reinvent himself.

That was his peak. MAB in his PRIME was better than the fighter who beat those fighters in that stretch. He would have beaten all but Morales worse than he beat them, and Morales only on styles gives him trouble.
People confuse when someone got famous that he was in his prime.
Jones was on a dominating stretch past his prime. Not losing doesn't mean prime, it just means you're better than who you are fighting.
Hopkins was not prime when he beat Trinidad. No one noticed him prior. It's a mistake to think 37 yr old Hopkins was prime, and anyone who saw him in the mid to late 90's knows otherwise.

Lots of smiley faces, no content.
Learn more about boxing, get back to me. You can be winning and not be prime. Or don't you know that?
Let me rephrase. You are hurting your own argument. If you say that because a fighter is winning and getting highly ranked because of this, he is PRIME, then he can't be NOT prime until he loses. Otherwise you can ALWAYS say he is prime because he is winning.
However, when I point out that MAB lost, now you don't want to accept the logic above, even though it is the logic you were using to claim he was prime in the first place.

Translation, Alot of people a(Majority) thinks PAC is the second best fighter in the WORLD, yes better than any prime fighters he will eventually fight.
Its not matter of ruling the world he and PBF are ON TOP of the food chain, there is nothing to defend.:huh
There are people out there who know far more ...FAR MORE boxing than you and me will ever know that thinks PAC is the man. There is nothing to defend.
If you come out talking like ohh PAC is this and that, you'll look foolish more often than not. Yeah Guzman WHO??? theres a reason no one knows him, he aint that good?
No one knew Hopkins before he fought Trindad....was he not that good? No one knew Pacman before he fought MAB, was he not that good?
You know exactly what I am talking about. Don't play dumb. Where did I say I rank Pacman P4P?
Anyone that doesn't say Pacman is great and can do anything a Pacman fan says he can, is labled a Hater. PacDbest originally called me this in our original conversation when he was comparing Pacman to Duran.

so yeah, mab's best version ever was right after the two losses to jones but his best period of his career was right before he met pac. agreed?
That is what I have been saying all along. He certainly accomplished more later on. He had a great stretch that culminated with a win over Hamed and Morales.
BTW, I thought MAB won the FIRST Morales fight, and not the 2nd one. His style had changed and I thought it cost him in the 2nd one. MAB going to war in the mid 90's was better than his technical style of the 00's. But he can't do that anymore for long periods.

.....MAB had trouble making weight, he was drained....
......Pacquiao's corner had a powerful magenet pointed to MAB's head forcing his head to keep pounding Pacquiao's gloves...

You're Packing right Johnco!!! 2003 was the time MAB was on the Highest P4P ratings in his Career. Therefore there's no argument that definitely he was on his Prime when Pac Beat him!!! Congratz you OWNED KG today!!!
unfortunately kg likes to draw circles. he knows how to get away from reality by circling away from the truth.
i always owned him.... specially now. pac whooped the prime mab who was pound per pound number 3 that time :good

We are not asking for validation for PACs greatness, hes already again on TOP!!!, Millions, Billions know it..Actually its common knowledge..
Its this prevailing malaise of degrading an opponent before the fight so that one cannot get any credit.
Trust me and you KNOW MORE MORE MILES MORE Than me. Guzman, Soto, Valero, when Pac fights these "prime" fighters.. you'll wish for an Old MAB and Erik back

Either of you gonna stop cheering each other to false victory long enough to answer the questions? Or are simply going to ignore anything that proves your little thesis wrong?
Was Hopkins in his prime at age 37? Yes or No?

Did you just call Hopkins a runner?
Either way, you say Hopkins was not in his prime at age 37. You just agreed to this. Yet by your logic, because MAB was at his highest p4p ranking when he fought Pacman, he has to be prime.
Well, Hopkins highest P4P ranking.....he was 37. And you just said he wasn't prime. So there goes THAT logic.

mab was # 3 that time and he got whooped. that is the highest ranking he got on his prime before he was shot by pac.. so the ring mag and other experts are stupid to put mab at # 3??? or you are just getting off from the topic to save your dumb ass again... remember it doesnt take to be genius to figure out that if you reach one of the highest point in ppp rankings that means you are an elite.

In other words, your logic was proven false (as usual) and now you don't want to have it brought up again. All you kept saying was "MAB was #3 by Ring so he was in his prime"..."It was his highest ranking by Ring".
Now that it's proven that a high ranking by Ring doesn't indicate prime, you resort to insults.
How do you determine that MAB was in his prime then? You kept saying it was because of Ring. So if not Ring, then what? Prime and elite are different things. Never once did I say MAB wasn't elite. I said he wasn't prime:)
Oh, and while you're at it, can you please quote where I said Ring having MAB at #3 was wrong? Take your time.

Oh...BTW, you're right, 4 years ago, MAB was still NEAR his prime. Never said otherwise.
You didn't answer my question. Was Hopkins PRIME at 37 and 39 yrs old?
Don't care about Bhop.
I'm talking about the Present 126 & 130 pounder, Nobody among them Dominates Opponents ,Greats or Not, like Pac.
You named my Fav Cotto & Kelly but they haven't fight Great(ATG or HOF bound) Fighters yet. Cotto will have one in his next fight with Mosley but I doubt if he can win that fight like How Pac dominates MAB & EM.

Nah, you're name calling and thats fine by me.
MAB went back up because he won some more fights. That doesn't mean he was prime. Hopkins lost to Taylor and then went back up by winning againt in his 40's. He still wasn't prime :deal
They are parallels. Anyone with a semblance of intelligence can see what I am saying. This excludes you.
PBF could lose tomorrow and still be in his prime. His style hasn't changed, he hasn't physically slown down. If he wins every fight until he is 35, it doesn't mean he is still prime at 35. Just means no one can beat him.

Lots of fighters dominate in their weight classes. Valero has been dominant. But as I have told you a 1000 times. KO's aren't the only way to dominate. More noticable? Yup....more dominant than a 120-108 decision? Nope. Styles buddy. Styles.

For a change Pac fans, agree with kg. A high P4P ranking doesn't mean that is the boxer's prime. A good example is Hopkins. He is rated high today but it doesn't mean that his prime is today. He is obviously older and slower today.
As for MAB's prime, well you can go back pounding each other again. I don't have an idea when was his prime. All I know is that he is still competitive as shown in his last fight with JMM. He is slower though and that will be to his disadvantage. With said, my vcash is all in to Pacman. lol
