Come back at 147..?
He's been out of the ring for awhile now, he's older and maybe that extra 7 pounds that he has to loose will affect him now......
Hes blown up to his heavyiest ever outside of the ring, since his Manny Pac defeat...
Do you guys think Ricky Hatton will make 140 easy..?
I know that at 147 its a tougher place to be..
But i think Ricky Hatton should play with the big boys once again....

147 is not a good weight for him.
He's fought the best at that weight and lost. Leave it be.

He never looked good at 147 so no.He should either make the lighter weight or retire.

He should fight Matthew Hatton.

He can't compete at 147 and will be a shell at 140.
I'd rather see him retire. It's not like he has a dazzling skillset/one punch power to bail him out even though he's lost a lot of what made him good.
He was poor at 147 vs Collazo, then got schooled by Mayweather (not shame in that) at the same weight.
Ricky needs to retire. Oh and lay off the kebabs.

Don't think it will make any difference. He is shot to shit. The amount of weight he's gained will probably make him a corpse even at 147 and as said before he can't cut the mustard at welter. His ego is going to get him hurt unfortunately but that is so often the way with boxers

No, Ricky is one of the greatest ever at 140...only losing once, and that was to a wild shot after winning the fight by a country mile. 7lbs north of that makes all the difference, he'd have beat Floyd at 140 even with Cortez as ref and wouldn've wiped the floor with Collazo but for getting a cold from the aircon in the hotel.
boxing history is littered with guys who are great at a certain weight but can't make the step up 7lbs.

No.
His punch resistant is shot to shit at 140.
Christ knows what would happen to him at 147.
Unless he can find another feather fisted poofter like Paulie to fight he's in truoble.

I don't think he should come back at all he's achieved all he can any good live fighter at 140 will beat him

He should do what he wants, coz at the end of the day hes only gonna make a cunt of himself again !!
I don't know what 'big name' at 140 he can beat ?
Bradley would smash him to bits, Khan would probably smash him up, Witter would probably smash him up at this point, Holt would spark him...
He should fight Matt Hatton at the Man City Ground, and even if he looses he can say he lets his little bro win...... and his egos in tact

HE is deluding himself these days saying the Mayweather fight was nip and tuck and he was winning the 2nd round of the Pac fight by a country mile

yea ive been thinking the same thing. i doubt ricky can get down to 140 again and if he does he'll be so weight drained he'd get sparked even quicker. didnt he take the collazo fight at short notice aswell. take another crack at welter

No 140 or nothing.
He wasn't good at 147 in (or around) his prime so he'd be useless now.

It doesn't really matter what he does, he is going to fail either way.
Can you imagine how fat he is going to be when he finally hangs up his gloves!!
Heart attack victim inside 10 years if he is not carefull.
He may well boil down to 140 without any real problems if he has done it in the past but his recent fights show that he is really starting to slow up and lose his punch resistance. He cannot compete with a big name so will be fighting a bum who only his most ardent fans will be happy with. Unless he is deluded and really thinks he can mix it with the big boys, in which case he will make himself look like a complete idiot.
Looks to me as though he is going to destroy what was a fairly decent resume.

God man get a fucking life.:-(
If he is to fight again i would like to see him at 147, even though i dont think he would be that effective, borderline top 10.
But im only saying that on the basis of him being close to 300lbs in his recent pics. But if he can make 140 again and safely then why not give it another go if he treally wants to.
What i would like to say is losing to Mayweather where he didnt do all that bad until the end. A pretty poor performance in his comeback fight and getting smashed by an absolutley brilliant punch by Pacman.
Out of the people he has lost to what makes him "shot"?
Yes he isnt as effective as he perhaps once was but his two losses have been against the two best fighters in the game.
Its not asthough he was a dead man walking ala DLH.

I think that's stretching things a bit mate. I get your point but he's not over 200lbs which in itself is bad enough for a wee man

one of boxing's biggest myths, that Holt is a murderous puncher. at the top level, he has respectable power, that's all

what you talking about "Oh dear" !!
What have i said that ain't true ?
What skills and quality has Hatton got these days ? He used to be able to get away with his one dimensional style coz he could eat the punches. Now hes seems to frail, Juan Lazcano bruised him up and hurt him, Paulie Malignaggi even made him think twice !!
Holt aint a BIG puncher but he can still knock people out, he put Bradley down, and Bradleys a lot more tricky than Hatton.....

He's looking about 14st=196lbs right now, if we go hypothetical and say he'l fight on the May 1st date thats 59lbs to lose in 13weeks or 4.5lbs per week?? I mean he was complaining of peaking 2-3weeks early in the pacquiao fight if hes looking at 140lbs he'll be peaked by March!!
Can see it be named a lw fight and being changed to a catch-weight nearer the time if/when hatton cant shift all the weight

After his KO1 victory over Chavo Guerrero I see no reason why he cant meet Jake The Snake Roberts at a 147 catch weight.

Holt would not knock Ricky Hatton out. Ricky would beat Kendall Holt with ease pre and post Pacquiao.
