According to Proksa's manager they offered 45,000 pounds to Ryan Rhodes for fighting Grzegorz Proksa on march 5th but Rhodes has chosen less money and easier opponent to land on Haye - Ruiz undercard.

Man, Proksa is getting hard time when it comes to find good opponent.

Rhodes taking a ticking over fight in hope that he can land that world title shot.

I'm all for fighting the best guys but i can't blame someone on verge of world title fight having a tune up. Ryan doesn't need a war or a 50/50 fight. He wins and it will be a hard fight again on the clock. He loses and everything he's worked for is gone. He's in a real no win situation other then pleasing fans. Ryan's is right to be selfish and think of his career.

March 5? where and whose bill? if it's any British promoter it's complete bullshit. no way they'd offer that for a non box office show

easy tiger:lol:

Rhodes is hoping for easy money and an easy shot at the title or an easy eliminator. No way does he want to fight someone dangerous.

Is hearn not Proska promoter? doubt he would throw 45K out for this fight.

If it is true that Proska's Manager has said this, then he is a liar.
Purse bids are due shortly for Rhodes to face his MANDATORY opponent.
There have been three nominations earlier - Baysangourov, Bayram, and Cancleaux.
All three have walked away.
Konecny has now been appointed mandatory.
Proska has never been spoken of - he simply doesn't have the ranking.
It's EBU's title they set the agenda.

In addition, if Hearn is willing to spend £45k for an opponent on a Friday Fight night then I would be amazed.

Yep. The guy is getting on a bit, he's got to chose his next couple of fights very carefully.

(I don't blame him BTW!!)

I hope Ryan gets a shot. I'm not convinced he takes the fight it if he does get one but he at least deserves the chance.

Good to see some ambition in his management (if indeed that is what this is).

I hope that Ryan gets a shot and gets some decent greenbacks for it too... He has more than earn't it in the way he dismantled Jamie Moore in his backyard...:yep

It is a tribute to his dedication and training team to get him in the condition he is in and how he makes the weight the way he does... Not easy I guess, but does it well...:yep

His relationship in the cornet looks a solid one... Hope they can both secure a tilt at the World Champoonship Level...:good

Bring it home Ryan...:happy

what would a average headline ffn fighter expect to recieve for a purse?

he choose to fight Jamie Moore?

And he beat him, thats why he's got his world ranking and is in line to get a world title shot. He wouldn't be getting one if he hadn't fought Moore. Now he's in that position he's got to play his cards carefully.

I'm not knocking Rhodes, he's doing the right thing.

There's no way Hearns offered Rhodes £45,000 to fight Proska.
Rhodes has been ordered by the EBU to face his mandatory or he will be stripped. Simple as.

All depends on the title and opponent... I have heard that the money can be very different with different promoters... Some fighters are ticket sellers so that will always help...

There was chatter that Appleby got £100k when he lost his title in Belfast...£100k for a British Title fight is very very high.

I think the only reason he probably took that fight was because he was going to make more money in that fight than he would in possibly 3 fights...:think

He has made some good money and will come again I have no doubt about that...:good
