This is what Andy Lee told me last night after his facile win over a substandard journeyman. He is fed up with easy fights and wants to step it up then challenge Pavlik at the end of 2008

Hilarious to think that Lee could be in with Pavlik with in the next 2/3 years. He has talent but his opposition so far have been a joke. The Irish guy he fought over here was bad even by our standards.

He said it has been difficult to find suitable opponents since he KOed Carl Daniels and that his last 4 fights have been a waste of timeas far as helping his development

if taylor could hit like lee, pavlik wouldnt have gone a full 2 rounds. Lee has often outboxed Taylor in sparring and still gets in work with Wlad. I take a green Lee over Pavlik at 160.

well If this fight were to happen I would pick Andy Lee to win just from off his tremendous talnt and ability he has, the only thing that will spark a red flag in my mind is andy's chin, because Lee may be more skilled of a fighter, but pavlik has that power still and I dont kno if Lee can handle on of those shots coming from pavlik. But if this fight were to happen Im rocking with Lee

So Lee wants to get knocked out I guess...

Lee is a great prospect, but 2008 is still to early to challenge the top guys at 160.

Lee has done nothing to ******t being good enough for a title shot next year. I am a Lee fan but he needs to be put in with some decent opposition and moved up the ropes, whether on this side of the water or over stateside i do not mind but 6/7 more fights and then an eliminator at best.

Put him in with Eastman and if he wins well then he deserves a pop at pavlik.

And how do you know this? Were you there? Or do you hear conviently leaked information to bluster a fighter like Andy Lee?

Stewart said on Chicago radio yesterday that Lee got the better of everyone in sparring including Cintron and Taylor.Maybe he is just hyping Lee up - who knows

Of course he is hyping him up but at the same time Lee is a very solid prospect.

I dont know if he will be ready for a Pavlik fight for another couple of years.

people write boxers off too much because of soft op. hes obliterated them all. whos to say he cant do the same to pavlik. im a huge fan of both guys. HES SPARS WORLD CHAMPIONS DAILY FOR FUCK SAKE, EVEN WLAD! so he could very well be ready to beat anyone. not saying he is, but I think hed surprise 90 percent of you guys. Wht was his ametuer career like?

again i like pavlik, but he was exposed in his last fight. if he lost, half you guys would think hes nothing. Hes FUCKING LUCKY taylor is a moronic boxer who doesnt understand how to properly finish an opponent. Lets say this, if lee caught pavlik like taylor did like Im sure he could, Do you think he wouldnt know what to do?? It think hed be the new champ.

I like Andy Lee, but he is at least 10 fights away from being ready to face down a monster like Pavlik. If he wants to gain credibility, let him beat all the top B-level guys and then a top contender Like Kelly did. Then he can think seriously about a title shot. Put him in with ??? Bronco McKart would be a good test; a cagey southpaw who knows the game inside and out. If Andy could beat him decisively, put him in with Zertuche or someone of that caliber. Let him prove himself for shit sake! The only thing he's done so far is fight tomato cans. I'm not knocking Andy. I'd bring him along much the same way Stewart has. However, talk of a title shot is seriously premature.

Andy Lee wouldn't get a shot at PAvlik anytime soon anyways. There's no reason why Arum would risk his cas chow against a dangerous prospect like Lee. This fight doesn't make sense for at least 2 more years.

right........he has no problem putting pavlik in with guys like miranda and taylor......but of a green kid like lee he is afraid of???

That is what I keep reading about Lee, Kronk MW Champion. Lee has been sparring on even terms with Taylor in training , and has great potential . He still needs to prove himself in the ring though, so I cant wait for Lee to step up.

Lee was whipping Taylor at first to my understanding. then Jermain stepped it up, jermain said he was not use to that type of competitive sparring.

As I said in an earlier post; I like Andy Lee. I saw his debut fight and was impressed. I've seen him since, and I'm still impressed. However, I can't help but take a moment to point out how truly ludicrous the idea of a Pavlik /Lee fight next year really is.

Pavlik's last 6 opponents had a combined total of 163 fights and 116 knockouts. McKart has held the IBA and WBO 154 pound titles and is the current NABF 160 pound champion. Zuniga and Zertuche have fought for and held B-level titles. Miranda was many peoples pick to dethrone Taylor. Obviously Taylor was the linear champ, and Kelly put his lights out in just under 7 rounds. Andy Lee has fought C-level fighters and has only twelve fights, but he has already had to go the distance as many times as Pavlik has in 32 fights against a much higher level of competition.

Sparring in the gym against good fighters is a whole different universe compared to the white hot spotlights of a world title fight. Andy has potential, but like I said earlier, he is AT LEAST 10 fights away from anything close to a shot at Pavlik.

Lee v Pavlik will NOT happen anytime soon. Pavlik has about 2-3 fights max left at 160. Then he moves to 168/175.

Lee hasn't done a thing to warrant a shot at the world champ. He will probably be at 160 for the net few years anyway.

Man talent can carry you very far, just b/c Lee may not have as many pro fights as Pavlik doesnt negate his skill as a boxer. So judt b/c Pavlik is the champ that dont make him some unbeatable dude that noone with less fghts than him cant beat. Lee got the talent, dont sleep

Wait till he gets in the ring with an actual life fighter, let along champion, and then we can talk about "how good he is".. :yep

He hasn't earned any respect yet. :good

According to some people here, Pavlik was "exposed" after the Zertuche fight. Then he was "exposed" again after the Miranda fight. Now Taylor "exposed" him. Do you see the trend? Anyone can expose him, but NOBODY can beat him.

This is exactly what Im trying to explain to these sheep.

Apparently not many of you "boxing fans" have heard a guy called Leon spinks. If you used boxrec like Im sure your used to, youd see that after only 8 fights, this guy who ended up being what some consider a "bum" beat a champion! His name was Ali btw.

PS. If you somehow try to tell me this situation is different, uhm, then I have no idea what to say to you to be honest. Lets just say a person with zero pro fights could very possibly kick Pavliks ass. In fact I can almost garuntee you there are ameteurs out there right now that could kick his ass. That might be going to far, but you get my point.

I think highly of Lee but Im just not expecting from him what a lot people are.

Steward is calling him a future ATG (or was it HOF'mer?) already, no way in hell that kid lives up to that.

He has shown some things he needs to work on, one awesone KO over a very faded jnr middle doesnt make him the next monzon. He needs to step up badly though I think someone like Bojourquez or even Zertuche would be a very stern test for Lee, to see what he is made of. But they are guys who he can in theory outbox quite easily.

Im serious, Im not even laughing at you anymore, you blew my funny fuse with pure ignorance. I mean, you claim to follow patterns to validate Pavlik is unstoppable. I mean, cmon dude, get real.
