I was watching the first parts of the Collazo fight, and god Hatton's body punching is ridiculous -- it's a thing of beauty. He's quick as fuck too. I think Mayweather's gonna have his hands full this upcoming fight, can't wait.

I think his defense is underrated too. He uses kind of a tyson-eque weave to slip and counter punches. I think people who believe this is gonna be a easy fight for Mayweather are dead wrong.

How, Malignaggi is fighting on the undercard
PS...Hatton would hurt Malignaggi
well i dont know how do i, malignaggi is probably the closest thing to floyd.
and i really doubt hatton can hurt malignaggi, hatton is getting wooped by francisco figueroa.

Malignaggi fighting on the undercard makes it an even better idea, it gets them both ready for the fight, can push each other in a training camp atmosphere.
It won't happen, but Hatton training with Mosley and Floyd training with Cotto would be good for all 4 fighters in their upcoming fights.

Hatton has a great body attack, but he better perform better against Floyd than he did against Collazo.

Is that the same Figueroa that Berto beat like a pinata?

Of course not, but the stylistic similarity is there. You don't have to be the best guy for the job to be a good guy for the job.

Hatton spars to correct technique, he never goes full out and beats them up.

The video of that little guy kicking hatton's ass is from ages ago and he isn't kicking his ass, that is retarded it is called sparing not a boxing match. If it was a bout hatton would be all over that guy hitting to the body, the guy knows this and has been told to move about, if hatton was fighting, with the openings that other guy gave him would mean that figeroua would have broken ribs.

Ricky needs to stay consistent. If he does then we are ok. Hands high, chin down and keep ploughing the body.

he also needs to do what he has been recently doing, holding and hitting, dont give floyd room to breath.

The first part of the fight was a see saw battle between Collazo and Hatton.....its the end of the fight that worries me, Hatton was getting his ass handed to him in the 12th round.
Hatton should still fair well and put up a good effort vs Floyd....hell with PBF dancing with the stars Hatton has his chance to take his throne. Though I find in hard to think Hatton can defeat PBF on his A game, PBF his head and shoulders above Hatton in overall skill but PBF probably lacks a bit of the intangibles that Ricky brings to the table...its gonna be a good scrap.

Hatton moved up to Welterweight on 6 weeks notice and as he admitted himself had just left on some fat rather than adding muscle(which actually turned out to be a good thing with the way he went back down to 140) .
He's also said he's going to prepare himself for this fight like a Light-Welterweight and will quite possibly come in a few pounds under the Welterweight limit . Considering imo Floyd could probably still make 140 if he was really pushed and both will probably weigh something similar fight night that won't be too much of a disadvantage for him .
Hatton usually comes in better shape when the level of his opposition is high and in this case you can't get any higher so I suspect both men will be excellently prepared and I don't see weight being that big an issue .

I don't like Hatton's chances in this fight. Short arms, no jab and horrible defense he's tailormade for PBF.

He's got at least an average jab. He's not tailormade for Floyd because he has extreme power and a good body attack, two things that could get to Floyd if things go right.
A tailormade fight for Floyd is a slick boxer with limited power, because he would be fighting a worse version of himself.

I think the opposite way. First of all, his defense is underrated I think. He slips and counters -- it's subtle, but it's there. His short arms are perfect for his style. He's purely an inside fighter, and hits you on the way in as well. Hatton has the perfect style to beat mayweather I think, because he constantly smothers you , punches non-stop, he's super quick, he can fight dirty, and his body punching is arguably the best in the business.

I couldn't disagree more, his short arms might be good for his style but will be his downfall against PBF. In order to beat PBF first and foremost you have to have a jab to keep him honest and Hatton doesn't have one.:deal He will have hell getting inside on PBF because a he will be hit when he tries and PBF also won't be there for him to wrestle and grab. If he does manage to hold him PBF will use his elbows to create space. Not to mention Hatton's best punch his left hook to the body will be almost impossible to land on PBF in the middle of the ring and when he missses he will be countered to hell and back. I see it being a close fight thru 4 rounds after that PBF figures him out gives him a boxing lesson by the mid rounds the fight turns into a foul fest on Hatton's part before his corner throws in the towel late. Ricky's smothering style is successful against people that stand in front of you or who can't fight while backing up PBF is just the opposite that's why Hatton has ducked fighters with good movement for years.:deal
