All the talk about Harry Greb today has got me thinking back to a thread I've wanted to start for a while.

If you were a pro fighter, which fighter in history would you want to face and when and which fighter would you be terrified of fighting? Doesn't have to be in your weight class

YES-Duran (barkley fight)

HELL NO!-Harry Greb (Tunney 1)

To go away from the Tyson/Foreman type answers I'll go with Chang.

I mean, I can fight a bit, but for someone who considers himself quite brave once engaged in fisticuffs, Chang would lay a frightening beating on me, and I walk around about a stone heavier than he fought at.

I'll go for Amir Khan. Knowing his style as I do I feel that if my chin holds up long enough I can land a big shot on his glass jaw and become a legend to my mates

good answers:good

chang is similar to my greb: it's not a one punch knockout necessary but a life altering beating. not that greb couldn't knock me out with one punch but otherwise it would be torture for 15 fucking rounds

khan's a good one: ALWAYS gonna be vulnerable to that one big shot. hold em high, bide your time and hope for the best

Nah, I'd try and wade straight into him with a low slung left, using upper body and head movement to take the edge of his speedy combos as o try and close the gap, swinging the obviously low slung left across in a Barrera-type half hook-half uppercut which Khan, being a professional boxer, will easily spot and slip....

....leading him onto the short right I've set him up for, bang on the chin, Flea KO 1 Khan :deal

Wilfred wasnt the most feared fighter out there, a little on the passive side. That is, he lays back alot and doesnt come after you

I think Davey Moore would be a tougher fight. Come to think of it, Davey kicked his ass

At my athletic peak I was a solid 240 pounds with very good stamina and freakish power compared to my buddies and I had above average reflexes and hand and eye coordination. If I was still in that form, I would go up against Marciano in a heartbeat. I'd also stay far away from Lewis or the Klitschko's.

I'd rather fight someone like Tyson and get KOed early than fight a light hitting world champion who might not have the power to KO me but obviously the skill (being a light hitting WORLD CHAMPION) to punch the shit out of me for 12-15 rounds, causing much more pain than a one punch KO specialist.

One punch received, :toneyfight over, don't remember a thing.:silly

1000 punches received, :boxx:beat every single one of them felt and remembered.:!:

Not really a tough choice.

Also Daniel Santos looked pretty sorry too against Foreman

Fight: Amir Khan

If he beat me it'd be a short beating because he's fast and powerful enough to get me out of there in a few seconds like he did to Salita. Quick and relatively painless for me. But if I hit him with my jab...I'd have quite a chance. Hell, I could probably knock him out by knocking him across the head with my testicles for chrissake...

Theres only one person coming out of the ring a joke between you and Calzaghe and it aint a Welshman.

To answer the question, well I'm not sure how to answer the question, I get the idea this is basically a who is your favourite fighter sort of thread. In that case if I was half decent I'd like to fight Nigel Benn and have a real classic tear-up.

The person I'd least like to fight is someone who could embarrass me over twelve rounds and make me look ridiculous, as someone previously said I'd rather get straight KO'd early than that.

What statement in my entire post even suggests that I delude myself? The part were I said I'd face Marciano at my peak? I guess all the journeymen and light heavyweights who dared step in the ring with the Rock were deluded also. Please don't try to talk about me like I am unrealistic.
