still you have to wonder how come Tyson didnt chase one, a rematch would of gave Douglas another HUGE payday win or lose.

Because he wanted to regain the titles which were in possesion of Holyfield. Ruddock was rated #1 by the bodies so he was the man to beat to get to Holyfield (in contrary to Douglas whose rating plumbed after being exposed by Holyfield for a one-time wonder).

You can blame that one on Don King.

Did Tyson have rematch clauses at all in those days(pre-Douglas)?

because buster got his payday with evander, and was no longer considered worthy of a rematch.

Holyfield Was Waiting In The Wings As #1 Contender For About 1 Yr........so Buster Fought Tyson Beat Him/and Agreed To Fight Holy Who Was Ranked Numero Uno.

You guys remember the fiasco that ensued after the fight? Don King trying to argue that Douglas received a long count when he got knocked down in the 8th and that Tyson shouldn't lose his title. Or that there should be a mandatory rematch regardless due to the injustice of what happened?

I think there might have ended up being a rematch after, if I remember right at least one of the sanctioning bodies was considering it, but, the public outcry was huge against King and Tyson for what they were trying to pull and Douglas ended up fighting Holyfield instead

The main reason was becasue Tyson knew Douglas had exposed him as a joke and he knew he could never beat Douglas or any other half was skilled boxer unless Don King paid them off.
lol dont be a fool tyson could've rematch Douglas 1 week later and wouldve blown him out
