Has anyone heard anything about this? What a roughhouse fight it will be if it eventuates.

Not the sort of fight Wood should be looking for at this early stage of his career IMO - but would be a good one to watch while it lasted none-the-less.

I think Woods might get seriously busted up in this fight.

I think Woods might get seriously busted up in this fight.
agreed,
not much to gain at this stage of his career fighting Bika who could really dent his confidence (as well as his head)

Bika will give Woods a beating nothing surer. Why is this fight being mentioned, is mandy going to run away from his agreement to fight Garth. I suppose I should of seen this coming, he runs away from anyone who might punch back.

This is pure boxing 'bullshit' talk.
There's no way Garth, or for that matter, his trainer - Billy Hussein would fight Sakio fight for $50k when they have a 5-fold payday awaiting against Mundine. :deal
Please, both are too smart to waste their time on this rubbish.

Hope you're right, but we've already seen mentioned in the media that Mundine is looking to postpone his bout against Wood until Wood gets more experience - he needs to get that experience somewhere but Bika wouldn't seem a good place to get it.
As stated by others above, Mundine tendancy is to run from anyone who poses anything remotely like a threat to him - his ducking of Geale a prime example.

Christ....a whole thread on here was dedicated to the sanctioning of Mundine V Wood because of the wide gap in experience and here we are now considering whether Wood should take Bika although it may hurt his career.
If no one else will say it.........
Garth Wood will get badly beaten in a lopsided fight at the heavy hands of Bika.....it would be a disgrace to boxing if Wood was allowed in the ring with Bika for anything other than a sparring session at this stage of Woods career.
I predict a savage and heavy beating on Wood if this eventuates.

Anybody that beat Victor and Kariz should be able to fight Mundine or Bika.......Mundine fought a World champ after his 10th fight.....Mundine did not have better wins against his name as Woods does in Kariz and Victor.
Did even 1 of you pick Woods to beat Victor and Kariz?
Dont bother answering...I know the answer :tong
Everybody was swinging off Victors nuts 1 year ago :deal

Please!!! This boxing hype at its best.
Garth Wood wont even look at Sakio until he fights Mundine, and Sakio has much much bigger fish to fry when he finally gets over to the US and damages a few world ranked super middleweights.
It was good to see Garth recognised by THE Fist mag this month, he was the fighter of the month.
Lets hope the bunnies can replicate his successes, what a forward pack to have starting off the year !!!!

5 round stoushes mean fuck all in the scheme of professional boxing.
To be fair to Garth I think he'd fancy his chances more with Bika simply because he'd be able to connect with a fair few shots because both blokes will go straight at each other. Garth has shown enough power to get Bikas respect.
It's a fairly decent comeback fight for Bika imo.

Its difficult to tell.... Is half your brain missing, or does half your brain exist?? Either way, you're a half wit.

Bad fight...Choc will toy with Garth and make it look like he is being competitive. Sakio will just go out there and bash him, the only way he knows how..he has ruined fighters in the past and Garth could very well be another one of them.
Im more comfortable with him fighting Mundine then with him fighting Bika...even though I think both would be a farce.

Yes nice feedback mate...lots of interesting content :finger
Why cant anybody answer the question...you all picked Wood to get beaten easy by Victor and Kariz....but you give him no credit now when he won?
I understand the difference in going 10 or 12 rounds against 7 or 5 but if Garth and Kariz went 10 Kariz would have got stopped.....to be fair both fighters knew they were going 7 rounds so they could both load up and time their fitness accordingly
And Victor who has a 95% KO record could load up without fear of gassing out....that didnt work either...he also beat Israel Kani...who was the aussie champ before the comp
If Wood is as lame as your saying how could he beat these 2 seasond pros amd the aussie champ?

I don't think anyone is saying garth is lame, but fighting a seasoned pro like bika at this stage of his career is only going to damage woods. Bika has fought the best in his division and gone the distance, with his rough house fighting style I would pick Bika in stoppages of Kariz and Og as well.
Mundine for 250k is a much easier payday.

Agree...I would have Bika stop him mid rounds....Most of us know Wood is throwing out Bikas name to keep his own up there.....I would just like to see the series get more credit....if it did we may see a lightweight or LH version.

Sakio v Jesse Brinkley would be a fun fight. Brinkley just went to war with once hyped Curtis Stevens last week on espn and came away on top. They are calling it an early pick for foty.
With Heymon advising both Bika and Andrade, maybe he'l put that fight together? who knows, Sakio's career is a bit hard to gauge.
edit: I didn't know Brinkley is now Bute's mando. Sakio v Brinkley wont be happening anytime soon.
edit: brinkley isn't bute's mando. his win over stevens was for the #2 spot.

Ash, you are incorrect there and I suggest you go and read the original link properly.
It is Sakio's backers that have put this stupid offer out there.
Garth hasn't said a word. If anything, it's fucking desperate on Sakio's part as this is a bloke who constantly gripes that no one will face him (it's well reported he has turned down big offers and you'd know as your 'Man' offered him good coin!) so he's resorting to challenging a bloke with 8-odd fights to his name.
Very brave..... NOT
As I said in another post - just pure boxing bullshit talk!

More credit....start a petition.
That sounds like a desperate plea Ash.
Promise for us the judging wont be as biased as it was and remove any doubt of corruption in scoring.
Remove The Pioneers name form the show as this brings all other negative connatations leading to accusations of fixing & doubt as to whether the Contender contract will be executed in full as promised to the public.

Was going to put the question to Ash - Does it really deserve more credit?
But reading BCN's comments above they aren't too far from mine.
Would love to see it flurish, but there's a fine balance between boxing with cred and entertainment. IMO the crazy house stuff and the serious fight stuff have to be quite seperate - and the judging etc in-line with normal pro standards.

Brinkley is now IBF #2 and Bika is #4.
With the #1 spot being vacant, it makes sense to do Brinkley v Bika with the winner getting that spot and becoming Bute's mandatory.
