Darnell,
Would you be so kind to take a minute or 2 & tell us what your impression of Kelly Pavlik is. I'm sure that all members here will be interested to hear what one professional fighter like yourself who comes to fight all the time just like Kelly does has to say about the newly crowned Middleweight Champ.

Thanks, Ding & continued luck in your boxing career!:good

He is one of my favorites. I wouldn't understand how a true boxing fan

could not like this guy. He is humble but confident, well spoken, and when he

is unleashed in the ring, he has the mentality of a true champion by believing

he is going to win no matter what type of adversity that arises during the

fight.

He is exactly more of the type of fighter that boxing needs to flourish. He

can be somewhat vunerable at times, but you're gonna have to go through

hell to get to him. I don't even have to assume, cause I know that he is the

type of fighter who truly would fight anyone. He is a very throwback type

fighter by the way he trains and fights. I wish him all the best. He just better

not forget his check next time.:thumbsup

That was awesome, Ding. Thanks a million!:D I understand exactly what you mean by how any real fightfan could not like what KP brings to the sport. Basically all this guy has done is completely destroy 90% of the opposition. And as the competition stepped up, so did he. Because his technique is darn near text book at times, it makes him a pleasure to watch. Being that he's a KO artist just makes it a hell of a lot more exciting. Its been fun following him the last 3 years & I look forward to each & every future fight of his.

BTW...Terrific analysis!!! When your boxing career concludes, you'll be behind the mic one day.

GREAT post Jetski. Great analysis Ding! What are your feeling on Cotto? I'd imagine simliar...a lot of people seem to be comaring the 2 in terms of their relentlessness, ability to take shots and come back, and will to win. How do you see Mosley-Cotto going? Thanks Ding!

in your opinion as a boxer, what are his primary technical deficiencies? and, how far can he go with his current trainer?

I had a feeling Ding would give us a great, detailed & REAL fighters point of view of what he see's when Kelly is doing a number on someone.

Whos been more impressive in their last 3 bouts than Kelly & the way he won them? I can't think of anyone...

Fighter of the Year!:happy

I think it is more that people here respect him. He comes on the boards as a fan of boxing willing to share his views, like all of us, and people see that. He's a man, just like any other, but he is really good at not letting any type of fame he has aquired so far get to his head and he is a real down to earth guy. I know him well and he has always been like that, real humble, respectful, and gives anybody the time of day if they are willing to listen.
