I hope it is nothing serious, but teampalle told TV2, that he has not been able to spar as planned since Monday. Because of fever. He was scheduled to spar an irish guy since MOnday and now its thursday and he isn still not ready. I just thought "oh no"when I read it on text tv yesterday. I am a little worried. MIssing 4 days of sparring one month before the fight cant be good.

Kesslers trainer, Richard Olsen, says its nothing to worry about, that he often gets a little fever, when he is in really hard training up to a fight.

They are not letting him spar as long as he has the fever. They are only letting him do some light stuff.

I am hoping Mikkel will be well soon.

Probably overdoing it in training. This far out it won't matter missing 4 days. In fact it will do him good to have a break and then crank it up for the last few weeks.

only got a slight bit of flu i read, and his sparring with Brian Magee will start friday, so wont do him any harm .

Oakey won that depressingly bad fight though and if you saw Oakey boxing, you'd cry.

It took Oakey 12 rounds to stop Steve Spartacus (what a name). Oakey - Spartacus is the lowest quality, more embarrassing fight sky have ever show as a main event.

A fever shouldn't be too much trouble. Provided he doesn't eat (the simple cure for a fever) he shouldn't have trouble shedding weight in the last few weeks.

If it was a cold, it'd be different, because the solution then is to eat a lot in order to drain the blood from the head.

I donīt know. But what I do know is that I wouldnīt trust news coming out of training camps too much. This "flu-thing" probably isnīt the whole truth either - or the truth at all for that sake.

His flat in Monaco I guess is to avoid paying the sky high Danish tax-rate.

Before sparring he did actually train in Monaco.

At his homepage he announced that he would not be in Denmark these days. But still he has done his sparring sessions in Copenhagen.

I don't know if he is trying to avoid something.

yup the flu aint no joke, he wouldnt have strength to stand and even do light work, that would b too draining, he probably got a little cold and a fever. Not the flu, flu equals bed ridden. Lost of Thera FLu and meds, no light workout for him

the tax rate excuse is bullshit mate.you've seen how 80% of posters with denmark as their location would consider shaking kesslers hand a more significant life event than getting married,the birth of a child,the death of a friend or relative.kessler left denmark to get away from the danish. :deal

A LOT of elite sportsman get this kind of sick when in heavy training.
They are even more susceptible to it then someone who is very unfit, because the strain on their body gives them a low white blood cell count.

One month out shouldnt matter that much, its just it is usually the time when heavy sparring is getting into full swing.
Hope he gets better.

So there will be no excuses when Joe wins.
