Koki Kameda has really charmed Japan.

Ali of course, that guy made the press conferences as entertaining as the fights.

Ali. Watch the footage of him in Africa, running with hundreds of children following him chanting ALI BOOMAYE!

Just realised after making the thread that he takes this easy :patsch .

He managed to charm non-boxing fans into boxing.

I get his appeal, but for some reason I think he comes off like a tool.

If by "charm" you mean "made the entire country hate him", then sure. It's still good for ratings though.

He's not really more charismatic than a lot of other fighters though, it's just so unexpected from a Japanese fighter, where he's basically considered to be the rudest/brashest man alive.

All-time, it has to be Ali. Right now, probably Mayorga, even if it's negative charisma.

All-time? Gotta go with Ali.

In recent years, I'm not really sure. I think DLH is pretty charismatic...

As far as boxers that won me over with charisma, i was NOT a Sam Soliman fan when this series of the Contender started, but I'm a big fan now :good Such a likeable guy, full of team spirit and pride, but not an asshole like alot of the jerks on the show.

He certainly got a ton of flack after the close Landeta decision, but he beat the guy decisively in the rematch and I think he will rebuild his popularity. Before the controversy the guy was pulling huge numbers in Japan. Even drawing in non-fight fans. I think that takes a certain degree of charisma, and having watched his fights their is a certain rough charm about him that people could find appealing.

Don't know how anyone could not like Soliman, he seems so genuine about everything. I really want him to do well.

I guess Hatton is pretty charismatic, usually hes pretty respectful and made some quality calls against Mayweather.

The adjective charismatic has one meaning:
Meaning #1 ([Only registered and activated users can see links]): possessing an extraordinary ability to attract

I don't give a shit what the guy does in some hotel with a stripper, assuming by "charismatic" the thread starter has the above definition in mind, then the answer is clear. Oscar De La Hoya is the most Charismatic boxer today.

so you don't care what he does, dressing like a woman, prancing around in a faggy way. He might "possess an extraordinary ability to attract" ... you ....
but after those photos came out and most everyone knows he's bi-sexual now
I assume he's lost that attraction he might have once had. Obviously you are more turned on now than ever as you have chosen him. :nono Shame on you.
Ali all the way. No one close!

Bi-Sexual? Why for dressing like a woman in closed quarters with some hot-ass 'female' stripper? while you sitting home double-clicking your mouse to the "world awaits" replay, he was banging the shit out of that hot piece of ass :deal

I thought those photos were proven to be fakes.

There is no proof. As far as I know Oscars Attorneys have not even filed charges. According to the Web-site they have only been asked to take them down. They also stated that Oscars people did not even deny they were fakes, just take thm down. Suspicious isn' it? What really shines a bad light on this situation is the bet Oscar wanted to make with sugar Ray. "If my fighters don't beat your fighters I will dress up like a woman and parade around the ring like a ring girl. If my fighters win you have to dress like a woman and do the same thing." Now why would he think of something like that .. hmmmmm.
And that bet was made several months before the photos showed up. It looks like he has that on his mind from time to time. He's fukin' bi-sexual!!

Ali definately Leonard, Tyson (especially), and Dempsey were HUGE in their day.

People forget about Joe Louis though, he would be without question #2 on my list. The man was a national hero and gave a huge blow to the idea of aryan superiority by the Nazi Propaganda machine. Louis also enlisted in the Army, he was a huge morale booster in the world's greatest conflict, perhaps of all time.

Anthony Mundine,
you guys will disagree because he has been very vocal of his dislike for Americas way of doing things (which most people who arent American happen to agree with) but he is a champion bloke, and when the camera is off of him even his greatest haters become fans due to his humble ways.
