If you find yourself in the lobby of UFC's headquarters, make sure you don't slip on that blood from earlier today. UFC's guillotine managed to slice through Mark Coleman's hopes and ambitions with the announcement that he has been released from the UFC. Tears were shed, blood was spilled and before anyone even realized, Phillipe Nover was cut from the UFC roster. Blood was shooting all over the friggin wall like some cheap attempt at a Quentin Tarantino movie and then the news was dropped that Tim Hague's neck was chopped right off. By then, all the account execs at UFC were neck deep in some theoretical bloody river...but the carnage wasn't over.
Frank Trigg is the latest to catch the sharp end of UFC's deadly flying guillotine. Twinkle Toes' comeback to the UFC was cut short with a flurry of hooks from Josh Koscheck and a accurately placed overhand right from Matt Serra ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). I guess when you ask the UFC to put you in the octagon with tomato cans ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), they don't respond lightly to it. Before UFC 109, Frank Trigg said he didn't see anyway Matt Serra could beat him ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). Hmph. Well look on the bright side Trigg, at least millions of people across the world will be able to control you with the flick of their thumb ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).

I feel bad for Coleman- fair play though as he's old as fuck. I hope he finds another way to generate income.

Oh well. Suprised they even got allowed in in the first place. At least they made some dough.

White is doing Coleman a favour, that guy looked like a crazy tired old man since he came back to the UFC.
Nover has only been in the UFC for a year and lost all his fights, if he wasn't in TUF no one would really remember him.
Frank Trigg should retire they love him in Japan, he could do some coaching or TV work there.

Nover was a bust all anyone talked about before Efrain beat him was that Nover was the next great Champion. Trigg is better off finding somewhere to commentate hes not bad at it. Coleman might go back to Japan from what I hear.

Good news. Not for them, but for the UFC. Out with the old, more of the new.

Not seen the fight but a lot of people are saying Hague got robbed. If thats the case, I think it's harsh that he got cut.

Coleman is still a name and is coming off headlining a UFC PPV - so he'll find another fight somewhere. He'll pop up in Japan or Strikeforce without a doubt. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the April Strikeforce card.

I just wish Coleman would get hired on with some Top MMA team as a wrestling coach.

Surely UFC are exposing themself here. They put on a card where 2 of the main fighters have now been cut. Coleman was coming off of the Bonnar win but Bonnar TUF sweetheart is still arount. Trigg was built into a serious test and Serras career is rejuvenated off of the win. Sonnen was a 5 to 1 underdog which discredited a third fight.
You cannot tell me main event fighters get cut after one loss. That's bad. Main event fighters shouldn't get cut like that. If there is a chance of that happening then are they really main event fighters?!

I can't understand why Coleman was in a mainevent, how do you go from fighting on the preliminary card to main event in 1 fight? I understand his history and that he's a legend and all but he should have never been headlining a card.

They should have cut more. Too much rehash fighter in the UFC. How the fuck is Jardine still fighting in the UFC.

Shit article but none of this is big news. When a fighter is old and loses than they arn't much use to the organization anymore.
Sad reality. Plus yeah many more coul dof been cut.
Maybe theyre making funds available for some big purchases later on in the year.

i knew coleman would go out , i think if wanderlei silva loses ufc 110 he will also get cut, hopefully he will win but if he doesnt i wish he retire, he just ruining his career and legacy he going to end up going on losses
I agree I love Wanderlei but this IMO should be do or die. Noboddy wants to see a guy as great as Wanderlei was used as a gatekeeper leave that for guys like Jorge Rivera and I like Rivera but leave it to guys like him who have always been that way. Middleweight is supposed to be a new start for Wanderlei and if he cant beat Michael Bisping I dont wanna see him fight anymore especially in the highest levels of the sport. Cant ruin his legacy though no way can you go back and change his 7 year run of dominance.

Can look at it as making way for new fighters to get a chance.
If Coleman keeps fighting in the UFC he is going to keep losing, if he wants to keep fighting at all he needs to pick up some wins. Rolles obviously needs to develop as a fighter, a lot.

Coleman shouldnt even be fighting. I dont even know why Trigg was signed in the first place.

Don't worry - Wanderlai will not lose to Bisping.

Yeah im just looking at the possiblity but I hear you it aint happening. If it happens then its because Wanderlei sawed off his arm making weight.
