yes he's at a talk in in my home town of sunderland, all in aid of a local amateur boxing club.he's doing a question and answer session,if i manage to get up there to ask him one do you think i should risk the obvious "why did you quit against sugar ray?" or should i stay on safer ground?any suggestions?

"why did you quit against sugar ray?"

You would be the first to ask that :D

Duran has never given a real answer on that one.Could be he doesn't know himself.I always felt it was an impulsive decision that he almost immediatly regreted.I was really pissed at the time , but considering what he did before, and had done since, I don't have a problem with it anymore.

That's awesome. I'm not one of those people who get star struck by celebrates or athletes, but he'd be a rare exception.

Ask him where he thinks he ranking on the ATG list of boxers and why.

i'd go ahead and ask him that. just make sure you get in a good amount of liquid courage beforehand.

how'd it go?really good night.he spoke through an interpteter but he was really entertaining and funny.i got to ask a question and was going to ask about "no mas" when i completely bottled it and tamely asked him "how good did he rate ken buchanan!"he was very complimentary about buchanan saying he would be too much for any of the lightweights who are around today.interestingly when asked about hatton and mayweather he said he thought it was going to be a surprisingly easy win for hatton.wether that was just what he thought an english audience might want to hear or his genuine opinion who knows?

It might have to do with his fighting style.

Duran is Hattons idol and raves about Duran all the time. He also is an extremely watered down version of Duran. Im sure Duran sees a Leonard/DUran I fight in this Hatton/Mayweather show down.
